To be livid with friend ?

Bought a new microwave just a few months ago. Friend is staying over and put a plastic dish in for one minute and a flame rose up and she shouted for help . When I looked the microwave now has burn marks and the whole kitchen stinks . Aibu to be furious? We only just bought it

I've used microwaves for five decades. I've used plastic dishes and plates in them literally thousands of times. I have never I've had one catch fire. So why are you blaming your friend for this incident? What exactly do you think she did wrong?

Doesn't sound like she did it deliberately. Accidents happen. OTOH, if she did it deliberately, you've got bigger problems. Ditch psycho friend.
