Which neighbour with Christmas lights is being unreasonable?

Light hearted - I won’t be slipping neighbours a note with their Christmas card!

neighbour 1: mostly blue and cool white lights with one strand of warm white on a big tree

us: cool white lights

neighbour 2: red lights

neighbour 3: new lights this year in blue, red and warm white.

I personally think the precedent on the street had already been set for cool white and neighbour 3 should have fallen in line and 1 are slightly unreasonable with their mix of warm and cool.

Sorry OP , you lose. Cool white lights (especially ones that flash 😱) look like the emergency services.

Cool white lights are always the last ones left on the shelves … just saying

We don't have outside lights because we would never see them. None of our neighbours do either, maybe we're all just miserable.
But I do like lots of lights on my tree and tealights in sparkly vase things.
I bought my dd some lights for her tree but she didn't like them so i said to DH I would just use them on ours. "On the new tree you bought last year that is prelit" says Mr know-all. I could why not?

@D20 if you all don't have this, then you really need to try harder 😉

don’t like flashing, I might tolerate a gentle twinkle, but what really drives me crazy is the frantic flashing, and worse still 2 sets of lights, flashing different speeds.. how can they look at it and not fix it?!

Anyhow, back to the serious question posed.

Definitely you turn into a road expecting a burning house....or drugs raid. Blue should be banned.

Twinkling or static never that weird fading in and out setting or where it flashes so fast it gives you palpitations looking at them.

I'd take delight in going opposite clashing and Tacky it would actually make me put up lights just to sod them

Inside, I'm warm white all the way. But outside, I strangely like a mix of cool white and warm white. It's like silver and gold. But it needs to be mixed up together (as in strung together) or a big old mixture of warm and cool, not just one set of cool white and one set of warm strung separately, which jolts. Blue lights just look like emergency services, and modern multicolour lights are a bit too bright and cold for my liking.

But do you not care at all about being included in the Neighbourhood Watch provision next year?? 😱😅

Warm white are the best, but really outdoor lighting is not good for the environment.

To the PP with a street that has enforced lighting, that has to be in America with a HOA, I would have huge issues with being told what to do.

I hate warm white. It looks grubby.

I love a street with a variety of styles TBH. It looks far more jolly.

I like cool white outside and warm white inside.

Mixing cool and warm white on one property either inside or outside is just weird.

However I don't think the whole street has to match!

Cool white lights are shit. Blue lights are an abomination especially if flashing (why pick the same colour as emergency services). Neighbour with the red lights is the winner.

Cool toned lights make me feel ill. All lights should be warm toned.

Red lights look like demonic eyes.

Cool white should be banned, warm white only.

OK so now I'm worried, down the street everyone is multi coloured, up street cool white and blue, across the road are warm...what should we do??
Just kidding we have a mix and will put them up and no one will care!
