To think they can’t have just vanished!?

Right.. I need some help! I’ve either gone completely mental, or I was already completely mental 🤣

I am convinced, like 100% sure, that I bought some outside icicle Christmas lights in the sale last year. I remember being SO excited, because I always asked for them as a kid but we never had any. I finally got my own house, so was super stoked to get some and hang them this year!

Got all the Christmas stuff out of the loft yesterday.. no lights. DH swears there’s no way they’re in the loft. I’ve checked the wardrobes, under the beds, under the stairs, the garage and I cannot find them anywhere. My DC aren’t old enough to move/ hide things I don’t think. So either, I never actually bought them, or someone has been in and taken them!? 🤣

Help me find my Christmas lights guys! Where can then be?

Could they be in the car boot, under something that's been there a while? Who did you go shopping with, was it your friend/mum, could they have them by mistake? A mystery.

This. My DS complained he couldn't find his PE socks and when I went up to his room to help him find them he said accusatorily 'I bet when you get there they'll just be there' I found them in his drawer in 2 minutes. He puts his clean laundry away, not me!

Where would you have bought them? If online could you search for the order details? It may jog your memory. If it was in store, which one and would you have bought anything else?
I agree with check the loft again though! Could they have just been chucked in after everything else was put away?

This happened to me before with some coasters. I never found them, and think I probably left them behind on the cash desk.
In your case I would think they are probably in plain sight, but you are looking for the wrong thing. You are possibly remembering the packaging differently. Have another look in places you have already looked. Can you remember buying them before or after taking your decorations down last year? If after they would more likely be in your garage, somewhere out of the way like a drawer.

I lose things sometimes, have learnt that the best way to find them is to buy another set and then the first ones will magically appear Angry

I've found myself in this exact position (several times in my long life!) and each time, when I eventually find whatever, the problem has been that I'm remembering the box/packaging wrong so don't "see" it. It'll turn up, just not necessarily this year. 😊

If you paid by card and bought somewhere other than a supermarket where you usually shop you will probably also be able to find the tranaction on your banking app, to double check you did buy them

Re-check the spot you were sure about. Give it a second look.
In the car or garage.
In the pantry.
Under your bed.
Linen press
Coat cupboard.
Near where you want to hang them.

Did DH see them when you bought them? If not he maybe doesn’t know what to look for by way of packaging.

This. In our house there is such thing as a "man look". I can usually put my hands on it within 3 minutes.

Men don't have as good peripheral vision as women, I would go up yourself and have a good look.

🤣 good call, they'll definitely show up if you buy another set. Though check the loft first, my DH says something can't possibly be somewhere and then when I look, surprise! Right in front of me 😂

Why do people always suggest the car boot for something that’s not been seen in a year. Surely you all empty your cars for service and MOT, so if something was in there, it would be taken out. Stuff doesn’t sit unnoticed in a car for a year.

We didn’t hang them last as I got them in the January sales. It’s therefore extremely possible that they were put in a different place to the rest of the Christmas stuff. I’m quite pregnant so it’ll be quite difficult for me to get into the loft as it’s just a hole in the ceiling that you have to haul yourself in to! But I do think there is a strong possibility that that is where they are.. 🤣

Not in the boot, I’ve had it empty quite recently to bring a piece of furniture home.

We don’t have a shed.. but I will double check the garage. It is quite full and disorganised!

I’m convinced I have a memory of stuffing them into the bottom of my wardrobe, but I literally had everything out of it yesterday to look. It’s possible I’m looking for the wrong packaging.. I’ll have another look there!

They’ll be in the loft, I know I have another box of Christmas stuff in the loft but my DH says no. Unfortunately I’m unable to get in the loft myself. It’s a long running joke/bet that when we move house I’ll be proved right ( no plans to move for years)
