to wear my Oodie in the cinema?

I'm the kind of person who feels the cold very easily, and my local cinema is always freezing. I usually wear my coat throughout the performance, but it's always a bit uncomfortable. But then I remembered my Oodie which is very warm, and perfect for relaxing in and watching a movie. The Oodie in question is clean and plain navy so won't look garish or (I hope) be too obvious to anyone walking by. The cinema will be dark anyway and it's one of the fancy cinemas with reclining seats so space isn't an issue. I won't wear the Oodie into the cinema, I'll bring it in a bag and change there (and use my coat as a blanket for my legs if needed).

I thought this was the perfect plan, but I mentioned it to DH and he looked horrified. So is this plan genius or a terrible idea?

I’ve taken my fleece blanket in a bag into the cinema before, I can’t see what difference it makes if no one can see. 😀

I’m amazed that several people have said they can fit a coat over their oodie! If I did that I definitely wouldn’t be able to move my arms 😂

Do what you find is comfortable, I used to take a flask of hot chocolate and a sleeping bag to my local cinema! I don't give a flying flip what other ppl think,if you are not comfortable then what is the point of going?

No I wouldn't it's house wear the same as a dressing gown.

No, it isn't. It's a big hoodie, i.e. perfectly suitable for outdoor wear.

Have you seen the new outdoor oodies? They look more like coats but are soft and oversized like oodies are - if being cold is normal for you this may be a good investment! Grin

I mean, I think it’s fine to do it but super odd you don’t have a decent jumper you could wear.

Snowqueen67 · 05/12/2023 22:33

I take a blanket to mine 😂 couldn’t care less what other people think- I’m comfy and warm. You do you.

Spookyboogie · 05/12/2023 22:45

Do it. I am always freezing in the cinema. I take a blanket and a flask of tea. When I had to sit 3 hours through Avatar I even put a hot water bottle in my bag to pull out once the lights were off. My partner is just used to it now!

Well, if it’s genius then I have been a genius for a couple of years Wink

I have a plain long black ankle length oodie that I wear outdoors, and not just in the dark.
