Aibu to think it was not possible for Carole Middleton to engineer her daughters marriage?

Kate was staunchly middle class. The royals are notoriously snobby. Aibu to think that Carole did not & wouldn't be capable of engineering this? How the hell would she be able to do this?!

@Luddite26 yet Richard Williams (Serena & Venus's dad Richard Williams) had an award winning film made about himself. He was the ultimate pushy parent but comes sold as ambitious & determined as opposed to pushy!

Mr Middleton was in charge of Pippa's upward trajectory and far too busy trying to persuade her to apply for officer training at Sandhurst. Mrs Middleton was in charge of Kate.

Or maybe not. But it's easy to join the dots and make a picture when there aren't many dots.

Personally, I don't think the Middletons did anything out of the ordinary, given the resources they had available to them. True social engineering would have been to send the children to the local Comp so they could mix with a broad range of people and to have told Kate and Pippa to steer clear of young men with family money because it's much more fun and satisfying for a couple to start from scratch together.

I wonder what the difference is!
