like going on holiday with them, my dh gets on great with my dad and when they do for a drink they go together,and they both love fishing. we all love to go to majorca on holiday so we go together, and we have a ds nearly 2 and we get alot of babysitting help from them. me and my mum enjoy going to aquaaerobics so we go together.
but people in our village have been calling us odd.
just because we are really close.
i hope im this close to ds when he grows up.
are they just envious?
or is it because we live next door to them? them amount of times people of said oh i couldn't do that[ie live next door] in a snotty sniffy way

I think it's fairly odd. To me, the whole idea of being a grown up is to move away from your parents and make your own life. I can't imagine anything worse than having my parents constantly 'popping in'.
