Bra size G

Do you think of a size G cup as huge/normal/only for larger ladies?

I'd always been a D/DD and have slowly increased to a G since having babies. Now I'm worried that my boobs are abnormally large and feeling a bit self conscious

OP posts:
SaveMeFromMyBoobs · 22/11/2023 22:24

I wish I was only a G 🤣 I was a K when I was a size 12 pre-kids!

Well fitting bra is essential. No one would guess mine are quite as big as they are, even if they can obviously tell they're big.

JaceLancs · 22/11/2023 22:27

I’m a G or GG and don’t think they are that big!

Iwantmyoldnameback · 22/11/2023 22:30

Another G here, I always get my bras in Bravissimo. Lovely choice.

ohyesohyesoh · 22/11/2023 22:30

I'm 32 gg. I do t look that big but I do consciously dress to minimise

swapcicles · 22/11/2023 22:31

It's not that big if you're measuring properly that is ( if you're not they might be bigger!)
I'm a 38g and while I definitely have boobs there they aren't massive at all.

namethisbird · 22/11/2023 22:31

32H here. Good fitting bras are your friend when you have larger breasts.

Creepybookworm · 22/11/2023 22:32

I am 32 GG. I.mean they are big but so much that people stare.

Twelveisthebestnumber · 22/11/2023 22:32

I feel your pain. A couple of years ago I was a lovely 36DD. I'm 5'9" and a size 16. I hit the menopause like a train hitting a wall. My Mum paid for a specialist bra fitting and some bras for my birthday. I am a now a 38G. You could bloody live in my bra cups they are that big. The only good thing is no one else seems to be this mahoosive so I get loads of lovely bras on sale.

SapphireBracelet · 22/11/2023 22:35

I'm a G, but I'm tall and very chunky. But it's hard to find decent bras.

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 22/11/2023 22:35

My cup size increased after having DS and going through the menopause.
I was DD, now I’m HH.
I don’t think your boobs are abnormally large just because you take a G cup. I don’t think mine are. It all depends how they look in comparison to how wide your shoulders are, height etc.
A good bra is definitely essential as pp mentioned. I only wear Prima Donna Deauville

grafittiartist · 22/11/2023 22:37

I'm a GG, and they feel big but don't look it if that makes sense. I don't think anyone would guess the size.

I second Bravissimo. Went in, said size at at the desk, and by the time I had made it to the fitting room, 6 bras were there to try on. Amazing.

ItIsEverywhere · 22/11/2023 22:38

In reality, G is generous but not enormous - and it depends on your frame; I was probably about that in college when bras in such sizes were very rare.

I literally just took the broken underwire out of my bra (no longer a G...) and it fitted over my DP's head. Loosely.

dementedpixie · 22/11/2023 22:44

The cup size means nothing without a back size.
A 28G has a much smaller cup than a 36G.
A 28G is equivalent in cup volume to 30FF/32F/34E/36DD and they are all 'sister sizes'

dementedpixie · 22/11/2023 22:45

P.s i wear a 36GG or H

DramaAlpaca · 22/11/2023 22:47

It totally depends on your frame.

Crikeyalmighty · 22/11/2023 22:49

I'm a 40F and they are the bane of my life

threeisquiteenough · 22/11/2023 22:51

Depends on frame.

I would say I look like I have big boobs but not huge boobs! The annoying thing of having this cup size is lack of places to buy bras that fit. I go to bravissimo but it is very expensive. Am always jealous of the B/C cup ladies who can buy from anywhere!

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/11/2023 22:53

I’m a 32 or 34 HH, they’re big but not obscene, no one stares. I was a 32DD before 5 years of pregnancy and feeding.

user50and · 22/11/2023 22:54

I'm 30GG, 5'3 and weigh 9'3, so no, I wouldn't say I'm a 'larger lady'..

KnittedCardi · 22/11/2023 22:55

I'm a 32HH and my tits are pretty big in proportion to my frame. It depresses me inasmuch as buying clothes that fit the norks then swamp the rest of me. Ribbing and shearing is my friend, but it can be a bit matronly!

Lotyt · 22/11/2023 22:58

To me it would be huge as I’m a B! The one positive of smaller boobs is that they still look pretty much the same in my 50’s and I can easily buy bra’s from pretty much anywhere. My best friend is a H and she struggles.

Banana1979 · 22/11/2023 22:59

Depends on your back size. A g cup breast is a different size depending on the back size
I’m a 34H when I’m thinner and 36f/G when I’ve gained weight

Iamnemesis · 22/11/2023 23:04

36 GG no kids now 50 (years old not back size) m&s have lovely choice. I have animal print, red lacy, spots and dots t shirt and balconette too. You can get pants to match at decent price. I second bravissimo but live in the sticks and like to go in stores in nearest city while waiting for hair appointment!

StarlightLady · 23/11/2023 05:00

I’m a 36F, which is not a lot smaller than you OP. I’m also 2 cup sizes larger than my sister.

I would say be proud of your body and don’t try and hide it with baggy layers, which, not only are uncomfortable make you look larger.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 23/11/2023 05:18

I’m 5’3” and a 32G. They’re definitely losing some of their fullness as I rapidly approach 50. I joke that I’ll be able to save on bras by tucking them in my waistband instead.
