DPD lying yet again

Fucking DPD lying again.

Expecting delivery this morning. I received a text saying I wasn't in and it would be delivered to a shop for pick up tomorrow.

I have cameras outside, I have a Ring video door bell and a dog that barks if someone passing so much as breathes. And as you have to walk about 30 feet up to our front door he would have definitely reacted.

What is up with these people? Why do they feel the need to not do their prescribed job then lie about it? Laziness? Or is it if they lie about non delivery they can drop a shed load of parcels at the shop and get paid for them all in one drop?

And please don't give me the usual line about how they get paid peanuts. That's not the issue. And neither is the one that gets rolled out as well that they have run out of time. They were due this morning.

Fuckers.

DPD actually delivered my parcel yesterday. Well, they left it on the doorstep and updated the tracking to say that it was left "in or near a shed". I mean, I know the house could do with a lick of paint, but calling it a shed is a bit harsh!

Still, at least I got it, so shan't complain.

Hmm, they deliver my Gousto box every week without fail. I mean, it's usually left on the doorstep with no attempt to ring the bell, but...

They are twats. We get a lot of parcels for the business next door. Despite the fact that they are "London widgets" with a yard full of what are very obviously widgets and we are a house. Every other delivery company can seem to figure this out but not dpd. It has been going on for months. The latest is that the neighbours are accusing me of stealing a phone as the dpd driver handed it to me, I told him it was for the neighbouring business but he must have snapped a photo of me holding the parcel as he tried to give it to me and then sent that to the widget company as proof of delivery. 🤬🤬🤬

I've been on Mumsnet too long. I was trying to work out what family member Dpd would be! Grin

Darling Parcel Driver?
Dickhead Parcel Delivery?

Agree with you OP, I'm so sick of "missed" deliveries that I'm trying very hard to find physical shops or click/collect instead of relying on online ordering.

My laptop just got returned and automatically refunded after DPD called twice during the day on a weekday and I wasn't in (plus 2 other days when they straight out lied) 🤬

InPost are useless here.

Every time we buy from Vinted and the seller uses them, we know it's going to be at least 2 weeks before we get the parcel.

At the moment, DD is waiting for a sweatshirt she bought from Vinted, 2 and a half weeks ago. It's been put for delivery and then sent back to delivery centre, 5 times. 5 times! It will then sit there for a day before the farce starts again. We don't live in the middle of nowhere, no one else has issues with delivery, yet InPost can't be arsed to deliver.

I ordered something that was to be delivered around Xmas time once. The driver took a picture of a door, nowhere near me and said I wasn't in. I discovered that the house was 30 further down the road (I live at 2). I rang dpd and explained the problem. They sorted a redelivery. I had to run down the road.
It turned out that the driver was a temp and he stopped where his satnav told him to, he never looked at the house number, never occurred to him that 34 (possibly) was a different number and further away that the one he needed.
Every other dpd driver knows how numbers work.
