To risk giving DD swift tickets for birthday without having any ???

Hi
I am probably being unreasonable 🤣🙈
DD turning 10 really wants Taylor swift tickets for her birthday.
birthday is very close to Xmas and as much as I tried I didn’t get tickets. Now my issue is the resale tickets are pricey. I would be able to buy resale tickets after Xmas financially but that would be after her birthday too.
with other kids to buy Xmas presents for and one birthday this month already paying that amount this month just isn’t going to happen.
is it too much of a risk to buy her like reveal tickets for her birthday and then find resale tickets later on ???
in guessing there will be resale tickets popping up.
I can’t get them additionally to other birthday presents because it would be completely unfair in the other children !

Don't do it. I can't believe you even considered it.

Hellenabe · 22/11/2023 05:44

No don't, you'll definitely get some later nearer the time but you don't want her all excited then disappointed if you don't get them.

Hellenabe · 22/11/2023 05:50

@Doyoumind agree here. Op could have just been someone who wanted tickets and got a couple of easy offers here. Anyway, all sorted now

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 22/11/2023 05:59

@Numberalphablock

Those prices must be unofficial resale. Dont risk that. Tickets are not available for transfer yet so you risk being scammed.

You can do it, the upset would be immense if you cannot get them. My DD's are swifties and this is a massive thing to go to. To find out you haven't got tickets nearer the date would be heartbreaking.

Numberalphablock · 22/11/2023 06:03

@Hellenabe i could have been but surely it was me at risk of being ripped off
no one offered them for free they were both selling. So if anyone was at risk it would be me.

What a happy ending!

Sometimes MN isn’t full of judgemental assholes. Well done ladies, great to read!

Hope you and your daughter have an amazing time ❤️

Ohthatsfabulousdarling · 22/11/2023 06:34

The, if you could swing paying for tickets after Christmas, but get DD a small birthday gift, I'd talk myself out of the guilt of how unfair it is to your other kids.
I think that I would weigh up how hard life is for her if she's so ill, against the relative ease the others have it living without illness, and this is just something that brings happiness as a distraction from that for one evening.

Numberalphablock · 22/11/2023 07:00

Just because I know people will be awake now and it may be side railed about whether I’m a troll and have to defend myself for hours over a poorly child

here’s an iV pump and syringes which isn’t something usually is hanging around peoples houses !

we are going through the proper channels and hopefully it will go to plan and will have one very happy DD :)

Warning to people reading this: DO NOT buy tickets anywhere but on AXS and Ticketmaster.

Personal transfer is currently not turned on so while the above is a lovely story, please be careful.

I will go against the grain and say tickets will come up, if you treat stalking AXS and TM as a full time job. You do not need a code for resold tickets.

Tickets are becoming available daily but they are dear and they are being sold instantly. You cannot guarantee that you’ll be the one able to buy a set of resold tickets even if you make a deal to put them on at 3.14am.

Repeat: DO NOT buy anywhere but AXS and TM.

Numberalphablock · 22/11/2023 07:04

@eightloves are they not allowing transfers ? It’s all so confusing 🙈🤣

Try Wembley Hospitality- they might have some, think they were £450 a ticket but brilliant views and food and drink included before. It’s still a huge amount but just better value than resale I think.

XelaM · 22/11/2023 07:07

I did this OP but with The Weekend tickets so much easier to get than TS. It worked for us and I bought the tickets later as promised. 👍

myotherkidisacassowary · 22/11/2023 07:07

I think this would be quite risky - judging by other legs of the tour it was incredibly difficult to get resale tickets too. The disappointment of her being told she was getting them and then it not happening would be too much to risk imo.

WinchSparkle80 · 22/11/2023 07:08

Wembley Hospitality are official tickets, it’s another option. I think you have to sign up to the FA first (free) to get a registration code.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 22/11/2023 07:10

@Numberalphablock transfers are only allowed approx 2 weeks before concert. It's only selling back to tm / axs before that where there is no control over who they are sold to.

Agree if you are willing to spend £500 ish a ticket hospitality may work.

megletthesecond · 22/11/2023 07:10

You cannot do this.

I have an access code and even I've not had access to ticket sales yet. Even I have to admit my hopes are tiny.

TodayInahurry · 22/11/2023 07:12

I would not buy them, I know people who have been scammed through this sort of fraud.

Numberalphablock · 22/11/2023 07:13

How do you access Wembley hospitality ?

Skyisbluegrassisgreen · 22/11/2023 07:15

If you don’t get the tickets the damage to your relationship with your daughter and her trust in you would be horrible.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 22/11/2023 07:17

Numberalphablock · 22/11/2023 07:13

How do you access Wembley hospitality ?

I would look on the official Wembley stadium website. I'm sure there are 3rd party hospitality sellers as well but I am not sure how you would know which are reputable.

Peablockfeathers · 22/11/2023 07:19

I agree with PPs, do not buy tickets from anywhere other than AXS and Ticketmaster. Twickets as far as resale sites go is one of the better ones as you'll get your money back if you've been scammed; but where tickets can't be transferred yet and won't be until a few weeks before you risk not actually getting them!

OP there will be plenty coming up in resale over the coming months, just have to keep checking the sites (you don't need a code for resale). Definitely don't tell her though in case you can't get any and once again don't buy any from anyone or anywhere other than AXS and Ticketmaster!

Numberalphablock · 22/11/2023 07:19

I know I screwed up when I was preoccupied and didn’t see new dates and could have attempted to ring Wembley for access tickets but I completely missed new tickets / day Available. 😩😩😩🙈

Wimbledonmum1985 · 22/11/2023 07:22

There are scammers all over the place offering tickets - generally the line is that they and their friends were trying for tickets and they ended up with too many (how convenient) so not looking to make money. That’s the usual spiel 😒. Tread very carefully. Buyer beware and all that.

KingofCats · 22/11/2023 07:37

The ticket demand has been utterly insane and if you look at resale in the US so many could not get tickets and resale prices were through the roof. I had codes, many of my friends had codes and many of us didn’t get tickets. There’s threads on here about the horrendous of getting tickets when the codes and first batches were released. I do not think there is any guarantee you could get resale tickets
