Just that.

just popped children’s savings into premium bonds (around 8k). Was very excited about potential winnings . Looked it up and average would be about £350 a year 😂.

Has anyone had any luck? Thanks x

I've got £40k which has returned 4.5%(tax free) so far this year. But there's always the hope of the big win!

AuntieMarys · 20/11/2023 15:25

I've got £10,000 and have won £350 since January.
Dh has £40,000 and has won £800

Bluevelvetsofa · 20/11/2023 15:26

Never won a penny.

Pippu · 20/11/2023 15:30

We had £50K each in while interest rates were at rock bottom and got about 3%.
We get a steady flow now but never had a big win.

I have won £3400 since August 2019. I have the maximum holding of £50k.

Quoting myself because I miscalculated. That should be £4500 not £3400. Which is nice! 😁

Getmeoutofheere · 20/11/2023 18:25

Why thank you. This gives me some hope. Good luck to us holding out for the million :)

Full holdings.

I am still raging at not winning anything last month.

The draws are monthly so how can your friend win every other week? Surely it would be more convenient to have the money paid directly into the bank account rather than get cheques.

Edited

My mum used to know exactly how much the cheques would be for as they send the cheques out at different times during the month and she'd worked out which value cheques would arrive when.
So although the draw is monthly the different denomination cheques don't all get sent out at the same time

Im not sure to be honest. Had 20k in there, more recently increased that to 30k. Must have won over a grand, I’ll have to tot it up. Sometimes it’s £25 or £50, other times it’s £100 or £150.

Getmeoutofheere · 20/11/2023 19:06

O is it still cheques? I’ve had about £500 for a year and not won a penny but assumed it’d all be done through the account x

My friend wins every other week. Several cheques in one envelope..£50.£25.£200
Iv never won anything

That’s smart. They only draw the numbers once a month. Are you muddling it up with the lottery?

Snowconecanfly · 20/11/2023 19:10

Nothing on a small amount for 40plus years

NotMyDayJob · 20/11/2023 19:11

I have around £40k in, and have since July, I won £1200 last and a £100 or so each of the previous two months

ShanghaiDiva · 20/11/2023 19:12

Full holding. Largest win £5k.

I get mine paid straight into my bank account.

I had 20k in Premium Bonds for 10 years. I won an amazing £75.00 over the whole 10 years. last year I withdrew it all and put into an ISA. I now get about £50.00 per month, is a total waste of time.

hellomi · 20/11/2023 19:43

£1000, and over about 8-10 years (can't remember when it was opened!) I've won £75

theunderstudy · 20/11/2023 19:46

I have £36k and win about £100 each month. Fingers crossed for the big one

Gameofmoans81 · 20/11/2023 20:04

I’ve had £8k in for 3 years and won £1125

Nevermind31 · 20/11/2023 20:08

Used to have £15k in PB, over several years. Never won a thing. Interests are high, put your money in an ISA…

financialcareerstuff · 20/11/2023 21:21

I've been quite lucky - put 25k in five months ago and have won £1250 so far.... that's about 12% return annualised, but will probably not last at that rate!

swingtowin · 20/11/2023 21:52

My husband put £50k in last year and we average about £250 per month which is about 6% so worth it for the chance we might gets big one! His parents won twice -£25k and £10k. And I like clicking the app every month to see what we have wonSmile

The ISA option isn't always a possibility for everyone though sadly.

Chipsatsunset · 23/11/2023 06:49

My friend has the maximum amount and gets something nearly every month. £25 mainly but sometimes £50.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 23/11/2023 06:51

I haven't ever won anything, have a 4 figure sum invested for 3 years
