To think encouraging people to send chocolate secretly is not a good idea?

So Cadbury do this thing where you can send chocolate anonymously to someone. AIBU to think this is not something to be encouraged? I'd be disturbed receiving unexpected chocolate to my home address.

The three most sinister things you can receive in the post - bullets, anthrax, and Cadbury Fruit & Nut.

😐

😂😂😂😂😂

CherryMyBrandy · 17/11/2023 18:47

I'm not sure how you get through your day if chocolate bars frighten you!!

I would find it strange and bin it automatically. The person obviously doesn’t know I’m not a chocolate fan and having listened to enough true crime including a story where a woman sent poisoned chocolates through the post to kill another woman. The woman who received it, shared it with her family, her and her sister who ate the most died and other family members were sick. Not trusting any anonymous food coming through the post.

I think you need your put the True Crime down for a while. 😂😂😂😂

I really do wonder how people get through life! Of all the things to get your knickers in a twist, someone who knows your address and pays to send you a present is not one of them!
Even if Cadburys is not your favourite chocolate, how can it be creepy?
Get a bloody grip

I join you in wondering how some people get through life!

I would be overjoyed to receive chocolate in the mail, and couldn't care less who sent it to me.

TheGrimSqueakersFlea · 17/11/2023 11:45

@FloatingLog why wouldn't you eat it? It comes direct from the company not the sender. There's an option to add a message but there's not a please add poison tick box

@TheGrimSqueakersFlea

exactly.

it's being sent directly, no different than buying a bar at the supermarket!!

Theunamedcat · 17/11/2023 19:08

Food banks are available for anyone having objectionable chocolate sent to you

GalileoHumpkins · 17/11/2023 19:08

I read 5 pages and I still don't know 'what could go wrong' if you receive a free chocolate bar!

Cadbury's is bloody lovely here in Ireland, I'd scarf it.

Pinkpinkpink15 · 17/11/2023 19:09

Daftapath · 17/11/2023 11:57

Can you send it to yourself?

Asking for a friend

😂😂😂

GalileoHumpkins · 17/11/2023 19:09

I would be slightly concerned that the postman had touched it with his sweat fingerprints though!

VickyEadieofThigh · 17/11/2023 19:09

You're going to FREAK OUT when you find out about Valentine's day.

Isometimeswonder · 17/11/2023 19:12

You're a fun sponge, aren't you?!

Pinkpinkpink15 · 17/11/2023 19:12

Letsnotargue · 17/11/2023 11:59

Just please make sure the recipient doesn’t have a dog! Even well wrapped, if I was out and a bar of chocolate landed on my doormat it would not last very long at all.

@Letsnotargue

the first reasonable point!!

A strong cardboard box would NOT stop my friends lab!! He destroys the toys advertised as non destructible!!!

hopefully you can ask for it to be left outside!!

Goneroundthetwist · 17/11/2023 12:47

I imagine people with dogs won’t be impressed at getting a secret delivery of chocolate through their door.

Some of us live in far off lands, where we have actual mailboxes on the street, so Cadbury can bring it on here as far as I'm concerned (not that I can think of a single person who would have chocolate sent to me, sadly).

Too good to do so. 😉

Besides, as I said before I am not a fan of chocolate so a ridiculous and wasted gift for me. I think it’s way overrated and always have.

Isometimeswonder · 17/11/2023 19:17

OP, obviously

Verv · 17/11/2023 19:17

You’re going to shit when you find out about December and its potential for unsolicited Christmas Cards.

Stroopwaffels · 17/11/2023 11:37

I'd be delighted with proper free chocolate, Cadbury's not so much as it's palm oil filled shite.

There are many more creepy things that people might choose to do.

This. I'm not a fan of the palm oil.

I should have added to my earlier post... when my DH saw the adverts he asked me to send him free chocolate if I ever got the chance.

Surely if your dog eating your post is a risk you get one of those post catcher basket mesh things that you can attach behind your letter box to put a metal barrier between dog and your HMRC tax rebate cheque or next door's aquabeads that got delivered to the wrong house???

How do you think everything you buy in a supermarket gets on shelf ?
