Who gets the voucher?
Adult A buys adult B a t shirt for a birthday.. T shirt is too big. Adult C offers to swap it as they have a day off that week. Adult A and B don't. T shirt is now half price and refund is given in a voucher..
Who gets the voucher?.
Adult A who paid.
Adult B who had the birthday.
Adult C who gave up their time to return it. Albeit they offered.
I have already decided but am I fair in my thinking?

I'm surprised this is even a question... surely it's B, the t-shirt was for them so the voucher should be given to them to get it in a different size or get something else

Well, obviously B?! It was their present that was exchanged so they get the voucher in place of the original gift. It's not their fault the t-shirt didn't fit!

I can see circumstances where C gets stuck in 6 hours of traffic where A might say "Oh poor C-I'm sorry that happened. Here, you have the voucher" but obviously C then says "I wouldn't hear of it- it was a pleasure!"

So they got the replacement t-shirt half price and then the difference between the sale price and the original price was given in a voucher?

B. The refund is part of the original present, even though they wouldn’t have otherwise had it. A chose to spend a certain amount of money on B. The voucher is part of that.
