You are being unreasonable - No

You are not being unreasonable - Yes

Can it be considered somewhat a feminist act in some way?

What?

Ratfinkstinkypink · 10/11/2023 20:06

How?

BubbleNotPeak · 10/11/2023 20:06

Like a woman being bold to behave how she likes without following societal rules and conventions?

Do you actually know what feminism means? It doesn't sound like you have a scooby. YABU.

Feminism is (among other things) about solidary with and support for other women. In no worldview could deceiving another woman by having illicit sex with her husband or partner be considered a feminist act.

Gerrataere · 10/11/2023 20:12

What is the motivation of this question? Because it reads like you’re heading towards ‘woman can hurt other women with indirect actions so feminism is a load of shite isn’t it’.

freetheunicorn1 · 10/11/2023 20:13

WTF

SerpentEndBench · 10/11/2023 20:14

???

AnxiousPangolin · 10/11/2023 20:15

What is this fresh bullshit? Have you been drinking?

SylvieLaufeydottir · 10/11/2023 20:16

Marching to defend abortion rights is a feminist act. Campaigning for better maternity provision is a feminist act. Being the other woman is just shitty interpersonal decision-making.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/11/2023 20:17

Who are the 10%?!

DoktorPeppa · 10/11/2023 20:19

It's neither feminist nor unfeminist

It's got nothing to do with feminism

Deathbyfluffy · 10/11/2023 20:19

It’s a shit choice made by shit people (if they know the man is in a relationship).
Trying to justify it somehow makes it even more shit, which I didn’t think was possible

People who got confused by the which way round the voting was maybe?!

Jewelspun · 10/11/2023 20:23

I'm not a feminist and I've never been the other woman but that's to do with my morals and nothing to do with being a feminist or not.

WishItWasDifferent25 · 10/11/2023 20:24

I think I get what you mean. So historically men could have affairs which would essentially be tolerated as long as he still provided for his family. No such indulgence was afforded to women. There is no male equivalent of being a mistress. When men cheat they are thought of as thinking with their dick. When women cheat they are betraying their husband as well as also held responsible for the damage they are doing to a wife that they don’t know and aren’t actually responsible for in any way.

I don’t know if that is what you are getting at but, if you are I can kind of see your point. A woman putting her needs and wants ahead of anything else is inherently selfish but is also maybe liberating.

NotObligedToArgueWithStrangers · 10/11/2023 20:24

There's nothing "bold" about it. The word you are looking for is "selfish" which has nothing to do with feminism.

5128gap · 10/11/2023 20:24

Well...if you ignore the fact that you're colluding with a man to hurt another woman; can overlook enabling a man to have the privelege of sex with two women, one of whom doesn't know it; turn a blind eye to the pesky little issue of informed consent of the spouse... well, I think you may be on to something!
(I can see me now..in the Travelodge in Doncaster with paunchy married Clive from sales, taking it for the team, bringing the patriarchy to its knees. Go sisters!)

By sucking some bloke off who's already got someone?

Fight the power sisters!

Hereforthebunfights · 10/11/2023 20:28

How could it possibly be?

You're a woman but not a feminist? Eh?

Behaving however you like without considering anyone else's feelings is selfishness not feminism. Take it too far and it's sociopathic/ criminal.

SugaredCookie · 10/11/2023 20:32

Just when I thought I’d heard it all

Assuming this is a real thread of course…

Thinkbiglittleone · 10/11/2023 20:42

I know some people have their own weird take on feminism now, but this is bizzare.
Under what guise is it about feminism, yes included in feminism is about woman having the power of choice, but not promoting the choice to sleep with a married man.

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/11/2023 20:43
