MATT HANCOCK - WHY?

thousandwhispers · 10/11/2023 17:39

Sorry, I know this is total drivel but .... last night I saw that Matt Hancock was in the final of 'SAS Who Dares Wins.' There were 3 in the final. They all managed the last task but the woman (not sure who she was) couldn't hang from the bridge, so she didn't win because they said unfortunately, she just wasn't physically up to it. MH did hang off the bridge for about a minute, but the assessor said that, despite the fact MH had got through all the challenges over the weeks, if it was a war, he would need to trust the person fighting next to him. So he didn't put MH through on that basis. Or that was the impression I had? They put Gareth Gates through who looked like he'd done very well, but he only hung on to the bridge for ten more seconds than MH. But, I'm sure they will often put two or more people through. They just didn't like MH on a personal level, basically.

My question is, what is the thought process with MH? What's going on there? You would think he'd keep a low profile, but not only has he been on this show, he was on 'I'm a Celeb, Get Me Out' this year and I'm sure I saw him doing interviews promoting a book. Who is advising him? Is he trying to ingratiate himself with the public? What is the point? Surely he doesn't need the money?

I find him quite weird overall, in a way I can't put my finger on, and expect to see him on Bake Off, or basically anything that will have him, for years to come.

I feel a bit uncomfortable watching him as it feels too desperate. AIBU?

they would have hated him to win the programme but he came close by the sound of things.
he is trying to ingratiate himself, as as said, it was filmed before Im a celebrity.

BIossomtoes · 10/11/2023 18:50

Why would anyone trust someone who was desperate to play God? Most people would run a mile from someone who wanted to choose who to die.

I always wonder what his gf was thinking, her husband was nice looking chap who ran a business. MH is a dweeb who models himself on Alan partridge.

Baffling, isn’t it?

Apparently, the back-story is that Hancock & Gina were friends at uni, he had a massive crush on her (as did every other guy who knew her) but he got nowhere because she was miles out of his league. They both moved on, married other people, had families etc then they met again years later when he was a minister.
Now, instead of being a saddo who she wasn’t interested in, he was a man with power & status so she saw him in a completely different light and he took his belated chance. All of which is either romantic or a bit sad, according to your perspective. I still have absolutely no idea what she sees in him, though.

Topseyt123 · 10/11/2023 18:38

Isn't he still shacked up with that former Civil Servant Gina Colladangelo?

Wasn't his affair with her during the pandemic the nail in the coffin for his marriage?

I think that is the case. A woman for whom the phrase 'Bob's your uncle' is actually the case (niece of Bob Wilson).

Lorelaigilmore88 · 10/11/2023 18:58

I absolutely can't stand him. Why is he booked onto these shows?
He is so utterly false. Remember his fake crying on Good Morning Britain? Urgh.
He is clearly trying to set himself up for media career after politicals but I wish he'd just crawl back under his rock.

TheaBrandt · 10/11/2023 18:58

I thought that too. Do you think she wakes up sweating in the middle of the night thinking “Christ I have made a terrible mistake”….

Isn’t it sobering to think this man held such power over our day to day lives - he told us what to do and we all pretty much did it.

SabrinaThwaite · 10/11/2023 19:03

He’s tone deaf, and he still can’t see that him shagging his aide whilst everyone else was expected to stick to the rules was a problem.

Foxy called him ‘Mr Hancock with the silence Han’ which sums him up.

Guesswho88 · 10/11/2023 19:07

I've always thought Matt Hancock did the best he could in a deeply difficult, unprecedented situation. Anybody in his position would have probably cocked up a bit because nobody really knew what they were doing at the start..to what extent is debatable. Not really sure what is motive is on all these celebrity shows 🤔 he probably has a lot of anxiety over the COVID debacle and needs to channel his energy into something.

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 10/11/2023 19:07

Sorry MH is an absolute waste of a human. He didn't do well in 'most' challenges as he is so very arrogant. He clearly hates women and for some bizarre reason still sees himself as important and current. He is a stain on society.
Whatever he did in SAS does not make up for the deaths he was responsible for. He is a vile, self serving person who should have enough humility to stay out of the public eye. His poor family. And to think he wanted to choose who lived and died. Can you imagine how that would have gone? The arrogance is breathtaking, he cannot assume all roles. Unbelievable.

Well she’s 43 so if she doesn’t yet she soon will.

thousandwhispers · 10/11/2023 18:37

He'll be on Strictly next time. Anything that will have him.

His political career is over.

He will do anything to build a "celebrity" career.

Strictly, masked singer, whatever.

Just be thankful that terrible "Farm" reality show is no longer on - You know, the one where wanna-be celebs wanked off pigs.

MyCircumference · 10/11/2023 19:10

a nice looking chap who ran a business doesnt mean anything though,

Fannyfiggs · 10/11/2023 19:10

He is a smug, vile, lying cunt and should not be given the time of day.

I love SAS who dares wins but I absolutely refuse to watch him on anything. Just in case you didn't hear me the first time, HE'S A CUNT OF THE HIGHEST ORDER!!

Are you Gina Coladangelo?

A Scottish football goal keeper. Played for a number of big football teams including Arsenal.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 10/11/2023 19:28

He’s scum, I can’t believe he made it to the final of this and I’m a celeb. Will def not watch that this year with fellow scum farage

HangTheJib · 10/11/2023 19:30

Apparently Nigel Farage is in the upcoming series of I'm A Celeb. I wouldn't be surprised if the viewers of that programme decide 'awwwwww, he's actually quite nice, such a good sport. I think people have been unfair to Nigel'.

SabrinaThwaite · 10/11/2023 19:31

At least we know his legacy will be that he was known in No 10 for being so far up BJ’s arse he had brown ankles 🤣

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 10/11/2023 19:34

They do say that politics is show biz for ugly people - maybe he woke up one day and thought ‘Hey, I’m not ugly!’ and decided he deserved to aim higher.

Guesswho88 · 10/11/2023 19:50

HollaHolla · 10/11/2023 19:22

😂😂Am I fuck. Take it you don't agree then lol?

Well, anyone who could spell "critical thinking" didn't. So he held no power at all over my life, because his lockdown policy was bollocks and I have said so on here under other usernames since March 2020 (so I'm not a revisionist).

I suppose that might be one reason why I'm not so hostile to him. He was involved with making stupid rules which I ignored.

@Guesswho88 he certainly had his cock up a bit.

Lol. Fair play.

SkinnyMalinkyLankyLegs · 10/11/2023 20:28

He's a vile little slimeball of a man with no morals or integrity. Absolutely embarrassing to see him on these reality shows and probably quite galling to people who lost parents and relatives in care homes etc under him and his buddies advice.

wited · 10/11/2023 22:03

He comes across as a smart arrogant cunt. I wouldn't want him on my team behind enemy lines.
