Despite having a real horse I craved a dapple grey rocking horse with a combable mane and tale.

JanetandRita · 09/11/2023 06:38

A pony. I asked every Christmas and birthday. Dreamed about being surprised with one by my parents.

A lizard bike

A puppy

Kertan · 09/11/2023 06:38

A German shepherd.
My parents would never let me have one when I was little and my husband didn’t like them. After I divorced him my lifelong dream came true!

I bought a dolls house kit it’s quite large lol in my thirties. It has pride of place in my front room.It also gets decorated at Xmas 🎄.
I have also been acquiring thanks to charity shops Eternal Beau crockery even parts of the completer set.

I also did buy a touring caravan many years ago it was fun. I’d love another but lack of a big drive.

A Sylvanian families tree house and camper van

ScottChegg · 09/11/2023 07:08

A bedroom with a window seat to sit on and read.

This would take considerably more savings than I have so I might have to opt for the Weebles playground.

Dashel · 09/11/2023 07:11

Depending on my age

A black BMX
A trip to Australia (only to visit neighbours)
A dog
A fisher price tree house

All the Chalet School books! Bought with my birthday and Christmas money (I promise im a grown up) ever since I discovered Abebooks and Girls Gone By in about 2008, now with various Facebook fan groups I've completed the set.

I also always wanted a lovely dolls house, guess what my dd is getting for Christmas . . .

ErnestCelendine · 09/11/2023 07:21

A keyper

Clothes from River Island for the carrier bags

NorthStarRising · 09/11/2023 07:27

I wanted a room of my own, that I didn’t share with anyone.
Managed it for four years as a student, acquired a husband and children and that dream evaporated.

The Barbie Star Traveller Motorhome. My cousin had one. We'd play with it for ages.

I never really got what I wanted. It was always slightly wrong.

I'm the oldest cousin of 4 on one side of the family the youngest is 6 years younger than me. One year we all got the same gift and it was pitched at the youngest age.

I don't think I ever played with it.

We got a Lego house once but my Dad built it (I wanted to) and then it became an "ornament"

My Granny's neighbour made me the most amazing dolls house. I loved it.

My parents sold it. They also sold the ice skating boots an aunt gave me...

I often got the same gifts as my sister though I'd get them first so had them longer but I really looked after them. My sister would get the same gift, trash it then claim my older but newer looking item was hers and my Dad would swap them!

He thought I was lying when I told him that mine looked newer because I looked after it!!

Ugh.

newusernamejacket · 09/11/2023 11:03

A pair of black patent shoes. All my friends had them, I would dream of getting them I wanted them so badly, but I was never allowed.

SalmonWellington · 09/11/2023 11:14

A really nice pony.

Not a kinda shit pony from exeter market that would try to kill me on a regular basis.

Ha ha, I had one like that too!
A Mr Frosty - mum wouldn't let me have one as she didn't approve of all the sugar - dito Soda Stream.
An Action Man. Mum Cindy needed a boyfriend, and my sister and I had already created a "Wierd Barbie" type Cindy, by cutting her hair and trying to turn her into an Action Man. Looking back, we were progressive, these were the early 80s and we had created Transman Cindy.

ManchesterLu · 09/11/2023 11:45

I'd buy the latest games console, as soon as it comes out. In fact, that's exactly what I did with the PS5, plus a few good games.

My mum worked so, so hard when I was growing up and tried to get us everything she could, but we were always behind what other kids had, and it left us being teased for being poor. So I got a PS5 and for the first time in my life I was ahead of most people. It didn't bring me as much satisfaction as I thought, actually.
