Secret Santa based on initial

Hi all

I just went back to work today after having 2 weeks off and they did secret Santa hat .. as i was off my work friend chose one for me and handled a piece of paper with the persons name.

Now ... apparently this year it's a little different you have to buy a gift that starts with either of the persons initials..

For example if their initials are C M you could maybe buy a Candle or Mug .... hope that makes sense.

I think it's extremely silly!!! but I don't want to be the one to go against the flow

Can someone please help me with any ideas?
The persons initials are A G - any secret Santa gifts that you can think of that start with either .. A or G 🙈 I'm finding this really stressful and unnecessary on top of my workload and stress
Please help

TIA xx

TheresaCrowd · 08/11/2023 17:01

Male or female?

LittleMooli · 08/11/2023 17:02

Sounds awful!

I'd go for

A Giftset

NotTerfNorCis · 08/11/2023 17:03

Haha gin was my first thought!

A game? Art? Ale? Aniseed balls?

But yeah a gift card is a good suggestion from PP.

LittleMooli · 08/11/2023 17:03

Amazon Giftcard?

Crackery · 08/11/2023 17:04

Apron?

I got a personalised denim apron for someone once ... for this same reason - we were working through letters of Christmas and were at A. I wasn't enamoured with the idea at first but it was fun seeing all the a pressnts and how creative folk had been with their thinking...

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 08/11/2023 17:05

I'm ashamed to say I don't know anything about this person 😂 apart from saying hello and chatting about work we don't really know each other

How much???

Good grief! It's usually a fiver!

Crunchymum · 08/11/2023 17:10

£50 - what? I assume not out of your own pocket???

You are on to a winner with A.G - Amazon Giftcard for £50

I feel sorry for whoever gets Xena Zanussi 😂

CesareBorgia · 08/11/2023 17:10

Notfeelinghunkydory · 08/11/2023 17:01

Anusol or Germoline 🤣

I'd actually be delighted with this! 😂

Ididivfama · 08/11/2023 17:11

Omg is this £50 out of your own pocket???

margotrose · 08/11/2023 17:11

£50?!

Fucking hell.

Ididivfama · 08/11/2023 17:11

Ours was a £5 and one place made it £10

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 08/11/2023 17:14

Personally I would hate an amazon gift card and it would never be used so that's a bit risky. Especially £50 worth of worthlessness <faints>

lamad · 08/11/2023 17:15

I know! I was shocked too! But apparently they came to the conclusion that with the inflation you can't buy anything for £20-£30 😵‍💫 I can easily think of gifts that would make me happy for under £20 but clearly they couldn't
