People are attracted to who they are attracted to, it does not require me to believe in gendered souls.

justteanbiscuits · 07/11/2023 16:17

At the end of the day.

Is a sticker of a cat with the trans flag on going to turn your child trans?

No. It's not. They are very unlikely to even spot it as something other than a triangle.

My children knew what trans meant at 5, because we have a family member who came out as trans when they were both toddlers. They asked questions, we answered them, they didn't really care either way.

Trans toddlers. Heard it all now.

I think you are missing the point.

It is not about individual trans people, it is the message that gender is more important than sex and the harmful impact that has on females.

I see that flag as an anti female symbol. I find it offensive.

@Wrongandright I thought others may have replied to your comment but you seem to have gotten lost amongst the chaos.
It is not "just a rainbow" it is the symbol in the middle of the cat. Thats the progressive pride flag which absolutely does not need to be slapped onto children.

You’re wrong. It’s absolutely wonderful to encourage tolerance and inclusivity from a young age.

What is unacceptable is homophobia and transphobia. The issues with gender recognition and erosion of women’s rights are not an excuse to spread intolerance and hatred of anyone.

You'd better have a word with some of the Trans lobby about that then...

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 07/11/2023 16:21

@timeforacoffeebreak ah my bad. Although by some of the posts/posters on this thread it's probably not too out there for some.

timeforacoffeebreak · 07/11/2023 16:22

@AccidentallyWesAnderson oh definitely possible according to some on here, I see where the confusion arose!!

And many of us see it differently. It is not harmful to me as a female. Trans women are no risk to me and any other female.

Toxic makes however... But as long as everyone shouts over everything about the risk trans women are, we ignore what the real risk is.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/11/2023 16:25

Males are a risk to women. And MTF trans people are male.

Ok. You win. Comparing trans women to Nazi's

👏👏👏👏👏

And this is the end of the discussion. Because there is literally nowhere to go with this now.

AgnestaVipers · 07/11/2023 16:26

Hope the BeKind brigade have the guts to google phalloplasty, listen to some talks by detransitioners, and ask themselves if they'd be happy for their teenage daughters to do that to their healthy bodies because they are afraid of their own sexuality or of unwanted male attention.

The imposition of rainbows and progress flags on children is a kind of grooming. Normalising a hatred of the sexed body. Normalising the 'love is love' mantra even when it includes self-harm and delusion.

Nope.

And before I'm accused of homophobia, I am a lesbian.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 07/11/2023 16:26

Trans women are no risk to me and any other female.

The naivety of making broad statements like this is breathtaking.

MrsAllsorts · 07/11/2023 16:27

@IdleAnimations

Really powerful comment! 👏

How am I supposed to know the difference between a toxic male and a transwomen? Is there some sort of tell/sign?

MyGooseisTotallyLoose · 07/11/2023 16:27

Trans women are no risk to me and any other female.
What never, ever?
Despite all the evidence to the contrary?
So the little girl held hostage and assaulted close to where i live? No issues there?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 07/11/2023 16:28

We must have all imagined those assaults by TW then

I mean really have a word with yourself!

you are no more at risk with a TW than you are with any other man but crucially you’re at no less risk either

justteanbiscuits · 07/11/2023 16:28

timeforacoffeebreak · 07/11/2023 16:20

Yes, sorry, the family member came out when my children were toddlers. Not when the family member was a toddler!

Vintagevixen · 07/11/2023 16:28

The real risk is men, and transwomen are men.

What about Katie Dolatowski? Happy to share your spaces with him? Isla Bryson? Oh let me guess, they aren't REAL transwomen.

Vintagevixen · 07/11/2023 16:30

So TW are no risk - May I mention Kate Dolatowski, Karen White, Amy George, Barbie Kardashian .... could go on and on.

supercalie · 07/11/2023 16:30

@justteanbiscuits
Are you too triggered to understand the analogy?

What if I said it's not ok to put a Tory flame on someone's lunchbox and claim "it's just a blue lunchbox" is actually early indoctrination?
