I am aware of 2 female>male trans children. Both early teens. Both with emotional trauma issues and mental health issues including anorexia. One is autistic.

My daughter is friends with one of them and uses the pronouns they have requested. The friend group is strong and they are accepted for the person they chose to be.

However both children are extremely vulnerable and I believe the 'trans' behaviour is as a result of that emotional trauma. These children need protection and do not need to be pushed into life changing surgery or hormone treatments

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 07/11/2023 14:26

Actually to be fair waiting to 18 doesn't only embed the wish to transition - it also gives young people enough time to go through puberty as their natal sex, which is often curative of dysphoria. But that's in a non-affirmative environment. I don't know what the effect of puberty is if everyone around is still busily affirming that they are or should be the other sex.

Tandora · 07/11/2023 14:27

PingoDome · 07/11/2023 14:22

Julia Serrano is still male and has therefore a male take on womanhood. That's self-evident. It's not 'demonising' someone to know their sex.

Surely you are not suggesting that her sex, her body, is more important than her ideas (as brilliantly articulated in her book)? And I am the one who isn’t a feminist?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 07/11/2023 14:28

Julia’s sex is male

julia doesnt understand misogyny as a woman understands it because Julia is a man

nopenotplaying · 07/11/2023 14:28

And I forgot to add. No the stickers are not acceptable they are subconsciously being groomed by the trans brigade.

PingoDome · 07/11/2023 14:28

You don't understand misogyny if you think it is applied to people regardless of their sex, no.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/11/2023 14:29

Is the quote posted an example of Serano's "brilliant ideas"?

Not everything rainbow =gay pride

If people see rainbow colours that's fine
If people see gay pride that's fine to.

Your child has a sticker simple as that a sticker

RinklyRomaine · 07/11/2023 14:29

Serrano is a man, a man who happily admits that his identity is based in the sexualisation of the most humiliating thing he can think of; being a woman and being abused by men. There is no way to 'recontentextualise' that, I didn't write it or sensationalise it, he wrote it. What a random person to suggest the rather excellent feminists here read to understand misogyny! Hard to take anything said prior even faintly seriously.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 07/11/2023 14:30

Anyway we seem to have drifted away from a "progress pride" cat sticker. I reckon it got mixed in by mistake from another batch.

Tandora · 07/11/2023 14:30

Helleofabore · 07/11/2023 14:25

No Tandora. I am not exceptionally entitled. What a really bizarre thing to post.

You say you have this all accessible and it is easy to find. You are here abusing women who are calling out the concerns with your posts. I think readers can see that you have nothing to support your claims. If you did, you would start posting.

Just start. Just start with a few accessible study or paper that shows treatment is working for children and adolescent with gender dysphoria.

Yes. I would read your PhD. But I don't need to. I just need to see the accessible studies that you discuss. I am very happy to wait. I have now been waiting for months.

If you cannot support your claims, I suggest that you don't make claims you are not able or not willing to fully support with evidence that we can all read and stop fucking abusing women who disagree with you.

@Helleofabore you have followed me around, being exceptionally rude, personally attacking and insulting me on numerous threads.

If you believe there is no credit to my claims- if I have demonstrated nothing to support them- then you really don’t need to work so hard at trying to discredit me. I am not your problem. There is really no need to continue to berate me. It would be better for everyone if you didn’t.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/11/2023 14:30

What Rinkly said.

Serano is a misogynist and you @Tandora have fallen for a classic DARVO, which is quite common in trans rights activism. Deny attack, reverse victim and offender.

If you genuinely want to learn and be educated on how trans women are in fact women and not men, here is a wonderful article for you to read about the genetic links in transgenderism

https://mytransgenderdate.com/blog/2020/10/the-science-behind-transgender

Ok the article says, 'The BSTc (Bed nucleus of the stria)
and sexually dimorphic nucleus of transgender women are more alike to those of cisgender women’s than those of cisgender men’s.'

However the findings of the research that is the source says - 'Untreated MtFs and FtMs who have an early onset of their gender dysphoria and are sexually oriented to persons of their natal sex show a distinctive brain morphology, reflecting a brain phenotype. These phenotypes are different from those of heterosexual males or females.'

The article also tries to suggest that transgenderism running in families (or in twins) means that TWAW. This is conflating two completely different things.

Sex is decided by genetics. It is not decided by what your brain is like or if other people in your family are also transgender.

As a person who has been subject to debilitating misogyny, Julia serano has an excellent understanding of it. Please read her ideas if you are interested in her understanding of misogyny and not just discrediting because of her body.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/11/2023 14:33

Males are not subject to misogyny.

Hahaha.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/11/2023 14:35

Yes, you are rather funny, Tandora. None of these males would piss on you if you were on fire. Because they are narcissistic and misogynistic.

TheCadoganArms · 07/11/2023 14:36

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/11/2023 14:25

I fully believe Tandora has a PhD. I don't think it means what it used to.

So did Gillian McKeith.

I would report this, but people like to pretend there’s no transphobia on mumsnet so better to leave it here.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 07/11/2023 14:36

quite! I don’t need misogyny mansplained to me by someone who thinks they’re a woman because they wear feminine attire and like doing some of the things some women also like doing

RinklyRomaine · 07/11/2023 14:37

No, he hasn't. No man experiences misogyny. His entire persona is based in misogyny, but he cannot experience it.

I just find it sad that we can’t use the colours of the rainbow without it being a political statement!

Can't we? I've just painted a huge rainbow in my sons bedroom at his request. Must be a 4 year old secret TRA in his spare time. I don't know how I missed it, the warning signs were all there. He really likes rainbows.
