There isn't one like this in my pack of 100 (and there isn't an actual black cat squishmallow with a trans / progression flag) so this has been designed and included deliberately as opposed to 'copied' ftom official merch. As others have said, at first it may seem innocent and innocuous, but it's really not. All part and parcel of the current push by Trans activists. It's everywhere now because companies think it's popular, hence it gets pushed more without any real care about the message it gives. (Or in some cases, they know exactly what they are doing)

I agree, it's not appropriate and the whole movement is dangerous for kids.

Yes I was fairly sure it wasn't copied from official merch! It was such an odd one out from the rest of the pack of 50! So I was shocked

They know their brand - which is not just aimed at kids.

FriendsReunited · 07/11/2023 13:00

Yanbu. The old pride flag was about tolerance and diversity. No one had a problem with that. The new pride flag in your photo has had colours added to represent transgender ideology which is misogynist, homophobic, and advocates surgery and drugs for physically healthy children and the destruction of women’s safe soaces and sports. That flag has no place on a children’s sticker or in schools and it’s part of a political campaign to brainwash children into accepting transgender activists’ ideology as fact.

I agree with you. Anyone that thinks otherwise is brainwashed.

I agree too. I imagine the majority do.

Witchcraftandhokum · 07/11/2023 12:54

It's a fucking rainbow and a cat. Stop using it to spread hate.

To anyone with an iota of awareness it is pretty obviously not just a 'fucking rainbow' as once found on the tummy of a Care Bear or a My Little Pony but more accurately the current progress trans flag which represents a whole ideological movement.

TooBored1 · 07/11/2023 12:58

This is not official merch if it makes a difference.
But squishmallows were originally marketed and still are marketed towards children.
They have other special editions and of course many other age groups enjoy them, but that doesn't take away from them being a 3+ age toy.

Tell that to the lesbians and gays who had their windows smashed because they had a visible pride flag in their houses.

Anyone who think these things are solely about teaching children kindness & inclusion has not dug into this.

Here is the trans beaver with mastectomy scars from Blue's Clues, a show my 3yo is too old for. A beaver. In a parade celebrating slicing her breasts off. In a program aimed at toddlers.

I didn't believe I could get more enraged! But here we are!

WHAT THE FUCK

ChimpyChops · 07/11/2023 12:07

Ah, just saw the cats tummy properly. I apologise.

Still not sure I'd get upset about it. But I think it opens up a discussion or just throw it away.

I genuinely don't see anything other than a rainbow cat. I'm guessing the design of the tummy is a pride flag design?? But I wouldn't recognise it or notice the difference to be honest.

timeforacoffeebreak · 07/11/2023 12:24

Yes the middle is what I am talking about really, I should have been more clear. Apologies.
This was a pack of squishmallow stickers bought from Temu, so not squishmallow branded, but exactly the same. A pack of 50. Others were plain animals, a couple of Halloween ones and an elf. It came in a plain plastic bag with a barcode on it, as you'd expect from Temu or AliExpress etc.
I'm not trying to cause an issue at all. I did just find this extremely odd

So, they were bought from Temu. So they're not official Squishmallow stickers. Yet people will be getting angry with Squishmallow.

I've ordered packs of stickers from temu / wish, and they always come with a couple of that are slightly strange / random. They're not official (hence being dirt cheap). You should have opened with "I bought these stickers from Temu" so people understand they have nothing to do with the squishmallow company before they start boycotting them!

Recently The American shop owner too. She had her life taken from her for hanging the flag. So sad.

WHAT THE FUCK

It's imperative that toddlers understand that chopping body parts that haven't developed yet off is something to be celebrated for reasons they can't possibly begin to understand. That's the real kindness.

wensleywhale · 07/11/2023 12:20

Ignore and wail bigot at even intervals.

Interested to know what @Tandora would like to see replacing the Tavistock.
Children should not be treated for gender stuff with drugs and surgeries. I would welcome a clinic for children that offered mental health support though.

Yeh just like they used to offer “mental health support” to gay people right? (Aka conversion therapy).
i recommend the podcast “dear
alanah” for insight into how that worked out.

Tootsweets84 · 07/11/2023 13:06

YANBU. The rainbow isn't the issue. The so called 'progressive' flag should be nowhere near children. It's a symbol of a woman hating, child harming cult like ideology.

Suunnyd · 07/11/2023 13:06

@Haydenn @TheCadoganArms completely agree with you both. Sadly the rainbow flag has been hijacked by a cult and I think it is highly inappropriate to have children parading around being unwittingly brainwashed.

timeforacoffeebreak · 07/11/2023 13:08

@justteanbiscuits I have detailed this a couple of times further down the thread.
I should have included in the original post, I apologise. However some other posters have detailed that the official squishmallows brand do cater to certain movements and it's up to others whether they want to boycott or not.
I doubt this thread will hurt or tarnish the brand.

You are not unreasonable.

I am bringing my children up with as few gender stereotypes as is possible in this society. I never assume they will end up partnered with the opposite sex; gay relationships and families are normal to them. I teach them about misogyny, homophobia, classism, ableism and racism from an early age. Easy because of my life, my work and our very mixed area providing plenty of real life scenarios.

I find trans ideology is against me every step of the way. I will not teach them that they have to speak an inaccessible academic language. I will not teach them that correct body terms are offensive or that it is offensive when they are (frequently) mistaken for the opposite sex. I will not teach them it's ok to lie or override safeguarding for a special section of society. I will not teach them that homosexuality doesn't exist or that women could be free from physical and structural inequality if only they chose to take testosterone and cut their hair and breasts off.

Yeah, fuck that.

I just find it sad that we can’t use the colours of the rainbow without it being a political statement!

I am assuming that the poster was referring to a few years ago rather then the good old gay bashing 70s/80s.

The irony these days is that any LGB folk displaying the original Gilbert Baker rainbow flag are now subject to abuse as it is seen as anti trans and sexually racist to the wifi code mob. It’s an odd turn of events that after decades of campaigning and eventual acceptance in the eyes of the law and the wider public that lesbians are now being told accept ‘girl dick’ and are getting kicked off dating apps for the crime of wanting to hook up only with biological women and not the bearded head tilting incel in a dress.

Being gay was never & is not now a mental health issue. Suffering (suffering!) from actual gender dysphoria IS a mental health issue that can present alongside or as a result of other issues & difficulties. As such it requires thorough, considerate & thoughtful treatment.

It does the movement a great disservice to pretend otherwise & it's incredibly disrespectful to compare it to being gay which is as hard-wired as being straight.

Mustreadabook · 07/11/2023 13:10

It's not the colours of the rainbow that are the issue.

It is the actual political flag under the cat's chin.

We can use lovely colours like red, white and black....arranged in a certain way and the issue is different. (I am NOT saying there is any way the 'Progress' Trans inclusive flag is in any way aligned to Nazis - just that colours are just colours until they are arranged in a political flag)
