To ask how many friends and following you have on social media

I’ve noticed the older people are the tend to have less. I have over 1000 on instagram and 800 Facebook friends

I used to have loads, but deleted Facebook a few years ago and massively cut back my Instagram. Now have 175 followers. Page is private.

I am old but I have 16 k on Twitter and 1 k on Insta. I use both for work though.

How do you define older?

I have an instagram profile to follow some friends and various pages and celebrities, but I very rarely post anything.

On FB I have less than 70. My page is locked down as private and I only accept family or close friends. I'm 60 btw.

My DDs in their 20s have hundreds each on Insta, but they hardly know lots of them. I don't see the point.

Define older?

I am 33 and don’t do Instagram/Facebook/TikTok. Most of my friends my age and younger don’t bother with it.

Facebook is definitely for middle aged/over forty demographic.

Im older and none. Don’t need it in my life: thank God. Way too busy!

About 600 friends on Facebook - they're obviously not all proper friends, but all people I know either in RL or from online groups (including MN).

I barely use Instagram but apparently have 88 followers - mostly people who've presumably cross-added me from FB.
I'm not on any other SM. I'm 39.

In my 40s. About 400 friends on FB, but I only have people that I know and would talk to if I bumped into them. I don't really do the others.

170 on Facebook, they're all people I interact with to varying degrees, I used to have quite a lot more but they were people I used to know and I'm not interested in what they are doing 30 years later so I deleted them.

I'm only on FB and have 79 friends/family/colleagues.

I'm not into collecting them unnecessarily.

Why does it matter?

80 something friends on FB. Am amazed anyone actually knows 400 people they would interact with if they bumped into them.

I'm always a bit surprised and disappointed when I accept a friend request and find the person has over 1000 'friends'.

I think it's terribly attention seeking and some of them have the gaul to talk about 'privacy' when it comes to their children's photos, yet they're showing them to all and sundry on their 'private' timeline.

200 on FB but set so only about 60-70 are actually ' friends' and see what I post, the rest are ' acquaintances' and don't see posts. I frequently go through and quietly unfriend some of these too if I haven't interacted with them for a year or two. I only have one person I haven't met in real life yet ( met on here and hope to meet one day).

who cares?

Facebook about 50. They are all real life friends or relatives. Pretty private.

LinkedIn more than 2,000. They are professional contacts. I use it entirely for work.

X - had over 2,000 but closed my account earlier this year as it's a cesspit.

Instagram- never got into it and closed my account

I dont have any🤣. I have no social media, never had a facebook or Instagram etc. I watch Youtube but you dont have friends on that.

I'm 36.

I'm 30 and have no social media profiles. I'd rather focus on friends and family in person

MN would be pretty empty if we only discussed things we deeply care about 🤣🤣

I only use LinkedIn and have 12000, all people I have actually met

I have 100 Facebook friends.

8,500 Instagram followers (my posts on i/g relate to a hobby).

1,200 followers on Threads.

I'm 56.

I'm in my 50s and have about 400 friends on FB and 100ish followers on Insta. FB is important to me as a way of keeping in touch with some actual friends, but I also have quite a few people from childhood/school on there - people I'll probably never see in real life, but I like having those connections.
