Astounded by mullets?

I'm on holiday at a very British all inclusive abroad type holiday destination. It's all new to me, I've never had this type of holiday before. I'm astounded by the huge average BMI and lack of clothing of the majority of guests. The entitled poor manners is shameful. One man I was behind in the queue to the bar was aggressive with staff over their lack of understanding of his instruction of "no ice" but the issue was he was too drunk to understand there were 2 bar staff and he thought there was only one. I'm getting used to all of this poor behaviour but what has surprised me the most is the 3 generation family who all have matching mullet hair styles. That's male and female. I've never seen anything like it in real life in the 2000s. AIBU to find this all very unusual?

Mullets are in, mate, you’re behind the curve. Head down Shoreditch and there are mullets everywhere. Get with the programme.

And the blokes were called Bah &Teh 🤣🤣

Can we leave Liverpool out of it? We could just as easily interchange it for Newcastle or Essex.

Burnoutwhat · 01/11/2023 23:56

You sound very judgemental. Wtf has bmi got to do with anything? You're not attaching a moral value to it by any chance are you?

Also mullets have been a thing for a while now, perhaps you need to get out more.

ilovesooty · 02/11/2023 00:30

I'm wondering how you found yourself holidaying with the common people at a cheap time of year for AI when you're unaccustomed to it.

Gowlett · 02/11/2023 00:41

I live in a big city & have noticed loads of young guys with mullets, lately. They actually look quite cool.
Anytime I see a female with one, it’s the same one they’ve had since the 80s. Make-up the same as well.

Gowlett · 02/11/2023 00:43

Bah & Teh… I’m dying!

GCAcademic · 02/11/2023 08:32

I’m horrified to learn that mullets are back in. Genuine horror. I knew perms had made a comeback. But mullets?

HardcoreLadyType · 02/11/2023 08:49

I would also hate this kind of holiday, but I wouldn’t have booked it in the first place, so there is that.

I hate lying by the pool all day, and want to get out and about, so the AI food and drinks would be wasted.

Other people love them, and that’s great. Although, there is no excuse for rudeness to the bar staff, but it sounds like that was just one person.

Sparklfairy · 02/11/2023 08:58

It's been about 10 years since I've done an AI holiday. Back then I could never decide if the Brits or the Russians were worse for bad behaviour.

Helenahandkart · 02/11/2023 08:59

Mullets have been back for a few years now. And they look great. You sound a little out of touch.

Happy Birthday Love GIF by Pudgy Memez

Mullets (or a version of them) are in.

But it seems you are just using a few instances of people being rude to complain the fat people aren’t wearing enough clothes for your liking

Ffsnotaconference · 02/11/2023 09:00

Not a clue where the gif came from lol

VeridicalVagabond · 02/11/2023 09:04

Awww I think the curly mullets and awful little taches are adorable, my 16 year old's "he's not my boyfriend mum" boyfriend has one. It makes me happy that they will all be able to look back on their highschool photos and cringe themselves inside out just like we do. I was starting to worry the younger generation were getting too stylish.

Mrsjayy · 02/11/2023 09:04

Oh this says a lot about you sounds like you are fitting right in it's a shame you couldn't afford centre parks .!

evtheria · 02/11/2023 09:07

I like mullets 🫣 They're not really common where I am, but I went to the RHS in summer and must've noticed about 5-7 mullets. A few adults, quite trendy looking guys in outdoor gear, and a couple of little boys. Absolutely adorable 😁

Fizbosshoes · 02/11/2023 09:09

Mullets have been back for ages!

nancy75 · 02/11/2023 09:09

Mullets have been a fashion thing for 3 or 4 years.
If you think you’re too good for an AI holiday why book it?

Sexlivesofthepotatomen · 02/11/2023 09:12

I've just returned from somewhere I think must've been the mullet capital of the world, even teeny tiny little kids had them - some curly, some poker straight. Also saw a lot of lads with shaved heads and 'tails' that were popular here when i was in school in the 80s

Moredarkchocolateplease · 02/11/2023 09:18

Mullets aren't a class thing.

They've had to crack down on them at my DC private school so many boys were coming in with mullets, they are now banned.

Nchanged89 · 02/11/2023 09:21

Were there any fannywafts at breakfast too OP?

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 02/11/2023 09:25

Each to their own with pp responses but dh knows my one rule is no mullet. If he gets one it’s immediate divorce 😂He’s known since day one.

Uniquuue · 02/11/2023 09:27

Can't decide if you're in Turkey or Tenerife.

LakeTiticaca · 02/11/2023 09:27

I loved my mullet in the 80s . Everyone had one, male or female

The bigger the mullet the better.
Mine was massive
Happy days back then 🤣

Did they travel in shell suits? Do they keep saying “calm down calm down” ? Do they have scouse accents?

We've never done mullets {shudder}.
