Toddler Halloween outfit not scary enough?

OK so my title is ridiculous, as I've just realised reading it back to myself 😂 And also, first world problems, and all that...

However ... I've ordered a Halloween outfit for my 2.5 year old DD for a nursery party (and to take her trick or treating on the evening), but now I'm thinking it's more "cute" than "scary" and I'm not really getting Halloween vibes? Thinking I should have ordered her a devil or witch outfit instead, or something?

Or does this pass as a Halloween outfit? I can't enable voting as I'm on the app, but can people just say whether they think this outfit qualifies as "Halloween" enough for a toddler? Thank you!

It's fine. Cute is good. Why is everyone obsessed with halloween being scary all of a sudden? Hmm

Dd1 is being shaggy with the dog being scooby soo, dd3 is being barbie and dd2 wants to be a mushroom. We have American family and they have influenced this - they don’t dress up scary in their neighbourhood just whatever the kids are into.

I don't think Halloween costumes need to be scary for little kids. I'm American and kids Dre's up in all sorts of things, little kids are rarely anything very scary. DS5 is going to be a knight. I don't really like very scary costumes for little kids tbh.

Only preschool Halloween party mine went to they were Little Dead Riding Hood and The GingerDead Man respectively. DD was in a long white cape and zombie make-up with a picnic basket containing the wolf's head and DS was a gingerbread man with a knife in his back and "Run run as fast as you can" on his t-shirt.

None of the preschoolers appreciated my ingenuity.

Now this is inspired Grin

My 2yr old is dressing as Bluey and my 5yr old is baby shark..I don’t think Halloween needs to be scary, especially for little ones, as long as they are happy and enjoying themselves! We’re just having a wee party to ourselves; apple dooking, chocolate apples, donut string game, a pinata and some party food for tea.

It's gorgeous! I've just seen a little one dressed as Barbie for Halloween.

For years my DS went as a cat (and he was much older!). He got alot of attention as a cat because he looked so cute!

@ShowOfHands - that is hilarious!

That looks like something my toddler would have agreed to wear.

It would be then convincing her to wear anything else ever again that would have been the problem.
