To think my friend is going to hell

My friend has his own shop where everything is hand made , he makes his own products and stocks hand made products for others as a collective,

He's just text me in a panic , a little old lady came in and bought these .....

He's now worrying in case it's the grandsons xmas present

I think xmas day could be interesting in one house in the north of England 😂🙈

My Mum bought a headscarf when she had cancer, proudly wore it all round town until she saw my sister who said, Mum, do know that the print is canabis leaf? My Mum found this hilarious, had no idea but it didn't stop her wearing it. She was a lovely mischievous woman.

Yep, my nan bought herself a nice warm pair of socks once. Covered in cannabis leaves they were!

I visited a sheltered housing estate recently, very nicely kept, the residents had all done their little bits of garden beautifully.
It cracked me up when l saw a sign outside one house which said 'Miserable Old Twat Lives Here' and another one said 'Welcome! Now Fuck Off.'

I reckon l'd fit right in there, l hope so, l'm hoping to move there soon.
I just hope the lady's grandson is old enough to appreciate the gift!

We visited a tourist attraction called the Cerne Giant that is a large chalk outline of a giant holding a club. My Nan proceeded to try and buy 8 year old me some knickers which had a picture of said giant and was captioned “I like a big one” 🙈

Um am I the only one person to reply who can conceive of a 90 year old woman not noticing that it says ur-anus rather than Uranus?

There's not really any need to separate it to 'ur-anus' - the joke is obvious to everybody without that.

It's not even like it's one of the more popular planets that attracts the fans, such as your Marses, your Venuses or your Saturns; the only single thing it has going for it, that anybody cares about, is that it has a funny rude name.

Years ago I was in a shop where an elderly lady asked me to read the message on a tea tray, featuring a 1940s housewife. Unfortunately she was also hard of hearing so I ended up having to shout out "I'm the only bitch in the kitchen" several times. She then grinned and put several in her trolley as Xmas gifts.

Well it seems unlikely and a bit of an old and tired joke (sorry if that's ageist to mature jokes) but I think it in no way deserves the shitty (and obsessive) reaction you've had from the thread police OP.

Basically there are a tiny but noisy minority on MN who instead of thinking to themselves "that wasn't funny" then pissing off to something else, they have to verbally grind sand into your eyeballs to over-egg their point of how funny they didn't find it.

But then there was a long thread last week where it was really clear most people didn't know the difference between "laughing at" someone and laughing with them/about something they had done/all the other reasons humans laugh in each other's presence. So maybe it's a flat attempt by these people to try and join in with the humour and they're just worse at it than whoever wrote those socks.
