But there has been a lot of serious threads this weekend, and I hate to think that some would find them trolling, and actually shout trip trap to somebody in real trouble posting for advice, simply because of the challenge.

totally agree - it's this sort of shit on MN that makes it just as wanky as places like Bounty. It's mean, arrogant and elitist. Also don't like the unanswered threads challenges that start up as well.

I agree with KM in a sense that sometimes it is pretty funny etc. and everyone likes to be silly once in a while (or more!) but OTOH, as I said before it's funny when they are obvious, totally silly to begin with but some you just can't tell, and that's where it's getting abit... you know.

I don't think yabu a bit, I've avoided the board since it started. Serious threads suffer because of suspicion, and joke threads get people giving honest advice. People posting trying to get reported, namechanging, fake threads - what's not trolly about any of that?

I think it's undermined what MN is supposed to be about. And I don't think that considering it to be an improper use of MN means you've had a sense of humor failure. I think it's arsed up MN.

See, being deliberately offencive on a thread just to be reported is really not what mumsnet is about. Not for ONE week, not for one day even.
