Actually I don't think I am but can we stop all the Cod challenge threads now. No one can tell who is for real and who isn't and it is such a waste of time replying to threads that aren't real

Thank you.

I dont mind silly threads really, im not a completely miserable sod!

But sometimes it goes too far!

Aitch · 09/03/2008 22:59

definitely not okay, rhubs, that sounds mean. has it been happening a lot? i haven't seen them. a couple of baby pasta threads on the weaning section is the extent of it.

(funnily enough, one of the first ever threads i ever saw on MN was titled 'WTF is baby pasta??!!!' so they are in a long-held tradition on here.)

hatwoman · 09/03/2008 23:00

hat wonders if she's in a parallel world. how come i miss everything?

ahundredtimes · 09/03/2008 23:00

There are groups of people who know each other and like each other, is that a clique Rhubs? I don't know. I don't even know who the Head Girls are to be honest.

I take it with a pinch of salt.

I didn't see anybody laughing at anyone offering advice.

I probably offered excellent advice.

Rhubarb · 09/03/2008 23:00

I'm going to bed. Don't take the piss aitch.

mylovelymonster · 09/03/2008 23:01

If that was aimed at me, dodgy dear, that one made me laugh. Did you find something that did the job?
No, I just looked at every thread with suspicion and as a potential waste of time, and the reason was - the challenge - which pissed me off. And I'm supposed to be ok with that.....
Slur - that is some high horse. Hope you're wearing a crash hat.
Flouncing.....hmm...well if it means people leaving MN in droves.......but you must be right, of course.

Boco · 09/03/2008 23:01

I've not seen any threads trolling about domestic violence or even bfeeding - that would not be amusing or acceptable. The only ones i've seen have been very obviously a joke with no intention of causing upset and not laughing at anyone. where are these nasty ones?

ahundredtimes · 09/03/2008 23:01

But surely the majority of the time we all spend on MN is a waste of time no?

Aitch · 09/03/2008 23:02

hey, i'm not taking the piss. i was answering you, i agreed with you. stop being so prickly with me, i can't help it if i haven't seen these threads.

ScruffyTeddy · 09/03/2008 23:02

Agree rhubarb.

hatwoman · 09/03/2008 23:02

Ive been very happy debating the merits of getting 2 year olds to apologise and talking about crufts.

ahundredtimes · 09/03/2008 23:03

Well you've probably been had hat!

I don't know. If anyone can tell me about the bad threads then I'll change what I think. Perhaps I'm wrong and I've missed all the awful stuff.

Aitch · 09/03/2008 23:04

oh i see, you maybe thought i was answering your cliques comment. no, that was directed to your 'is it okay to post for bfing advicce etc as a joke?' i was saying that would be mean but i hadn't seen it. as for the cliques, i'm with 100x on that, it's overdone imo. if you tend to agree with people on here it might just be that you are a similar sort, needn't be a conspiracy.

hatwoman · 09/03/2008 23:05

well I wasn;t had on the crufts thread. I started it . and the apologising two year old one was, I'm sure, geniune. got a bit hairy and then everyone started offering chocolate to each other.

what I want to know is how does cod manage to disgiuse her typing?

S1ur · 09/03/2008 23:06

hey lovely monsters. Don't be putting me on horses! I am far too lazy slobbing on this sofa.

I was responding to erm, Jooly I think and several others, who said she felt like leaving over this. I said that would be a shame, cos it is a tiny bit of mn.

Don't get why that makes me hoity-toity really

TheWiltedRose · 09/03/2008 23:10

WONT SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!?

S1ur · 09/03/2008 23:11

Shit, why? are they awake??!!!??

Well thought you were having a bit of a go...a few pages back somewhere
at someone. Everyone has their own angle on this, and just because it was meant in a harmless jolly hockey sticks lashings of GB way, doesn't mean that was the outcome. Not everyone sees it the way you do, and not nice to reprimand for not getting in on the gag.
I love the cliques and characters - just some seem to be attention seeking, opinionated, and a bit of a bully - less cliquey than MN gangs - muthas in da hood - kind of thing.
Big up everyone, lets kiss and make up and PLEEEEEASE can we just forget all about it???

Special hug for scruffyteddy x

Can everyone stop flouncing!!??

WE NEED TO THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN! WONT SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!?

hatwoman · 09/03/2008 23:18

finally dawns on hat. so cod challenged us to start fake threads and see if we can get 200 replies without anyone sussing that they're fake? a good fake thread comes from a genuinely funny idea and usually involves dead hamsters. or pirates. few people can carry them off.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 09/03/2008 23:18

Jesus Christ on a bike...! (As a Mumsnetter whose name escapes me would say...)
