To think its disgusting that dh used my towel

WinkyTinky · 24/10/2023 10:46

Bought myself a new bath towel recently, a lovely pink fluffy thing, a treat just for me. Dh used it this morning, stuffed it into the wash basket, and went off on his way. So I took it out to get it straight in the washing machine only to find he'd really given himself a good scrub and left the evidence behind 😠Anger level 1-10?

You should have bought him his own towel in a different colour

We all have different coloured towels here and woe betide anyone using anyone else's - looking at you DD - she tried it once never again Grin - got a good talking to

He's a grown man! Why should she have bought him his own towel? He clearly already has other towels available for him to use. What's much worse than the mere fact that he used the OP's brand new 'fluffy pink towel, is that he soiled it because he's so filthy and left it for the OP to find and wash for him!

I'm truly sorry to disgust everyone! I just wanted to know if this was a typical man thing as I've only ever lived with one of them. And probably won't bother doing so again if this is anything approaching 'normal.' I am dreaming of the day I can go on a Dunelm shopping spree buying all the fluffy pink things I want. And I'm not even a pink fluffy girl! But I'll bloody well do it anyway.

Fuck me no this is certainly not normal man behaviour! My husband thankfully knows how to wipe his own bum and wash his own bum properly. We share towels and never has he left shit on a towel, Jesus Christ.

So glad to hear you will soon be LTB.

WinkyTinky · 24/10/2023 14:12

@Fahbeep No, I just think he's unthinkingly stupid and incompetent.

@CustardySergeant

You're an angry person to jump so viciously on my comment

We get your point as it's already been discussed numerous times by various posters

CustardySergeant · 24/10/2023 14:15

Have you spoken to him about this, OP?

Here's hoping

RubyBoozeDay · 24/10/2023 14:16

I would spread the dirty towel out on his bed, where he can't miss his shitty streak, and insist he replaces your towel. Then replace him in your life with a man who knows basic hygiene.

HappiDaze · 24/10/2023 14:17

Maybe he just happened to fart and follow through abs is completely embarrassed having shat on your towel hence throwing it in the wash hoping you wouldn't notice

He's basically a toddler Grin or was in that panicked moment

If that's what it was

Sayitaintso33 · 24/10/2023 14:18

Can't help with your revolting husband OP, but I've been letting tradesmen use various toilets over 40 years and never once have they been left a mess - not that I can remember, and I think I would remember.

Abouttimemum · 24/10/2023 14:20

We share towels but they’re for drying when you’re clean. I have no idea why they’d ever have shit on them! Minging!

Speaking as a man, no, it is not normal. My bum is clean after I leave the toilet, if I had a shower, the removable shower head can easily be directed as you would a bidet, how he got shit on a towel after leaving the shower is incomprehensible to me.

If you only have a bath and no shower, then he was surely bathing in his own poo???

GreenVelvetCushions · 24/10/2023 14:21

Hope you leave him soon OP 🙏

@HaveANiceFuckingDay I really didn't think there would be so many responses. Believe me, I'd rather not be talking about shit. It did happen unfortunately, and I think your assumption that it is all made up just shows me how bad it is!

You exist in a vacuum and somehow didn’t realise that your husband leaving faeces on your towel wasn’t fine? What is going on, here, OP?

mimiku · 24/10/2023 14:30

Oh man I was thinking wtf until I saw the literal shit comment. Any man that is incapable of wiping and washing their bum is an immediate ick that needs to go 🤢

Devilsmommy · 24/10/2023 14:32

KohlaParasaurus · 24/10/2023 10:57

This could fall anywhere between, "You could at least have bought him a nice fluffy towel when you bought yourself one," and, "He's asserting his authority by shitting on your special towel, this is probably the tip of an iceberg of abuse, LTB."

Love it 🤣😆🤣😆

Whattodo112222 · 24/10/2023 14:34

I have to say....
Your husband is up there in the top 3 disgusting bastards of mumsnet.
He has absolutely zero respect to do what he did.
Got the total ick just reading that.

Unfortunately it happens to many women, you just have to read the Relationship board to see how common it is. I believe it because it's happened to me and I accepted it as normal because your reality has been shifted, either by upbringing or an abusive partner.

@StoneColdAlibi literal shit.

What!? That’s disgrusting.

I wouldn’t mind my SO using my towel. We usually don’t but it has previously occurred on some occasions.

but that’s because I know that he actually showers. And wipes his own arse!!

that’s a double fail.
not wiping after she takes a shit.

and still being this dirty after a shower? Urgh🤢

and yes, I am aware that anal incontinence, leaking and other health conditions are health issues experienced by some people.
and I understand that it can be a massive source of shame.

but the issue with OP’s husband clearly is a complete lack of shame and respect for his wife’s belongings and comfort..

thedevilsgift · 24/10/2023 12:41

There was a post once from a woman who had sex with a bloke for the first time and he left shit stains on her bedhead ( which he apparently was leaning on whilst she performed a sex act on him). And, get this, she did not dump him but just cleaned it off and carried on seeing him!!!!

How low can your standards get?!

😱😱😱😱

EvilElsa · 24/10/2023 14:45

What is it with these men who can't wipe their own arses properly when they use the toilet? It seems to be a frequently mentioned thing in posts on here. I'm genuinely surprised it's so common, I can hand on heart say that even my kids have NEVER left shit stains on towels. Absolutely foul behaviour. Imagine putting a shitty towel in the wash basket for someone else to deal with. I'd hit the roof.

Fingeronthebutton · 24/10/2023 14:46

Obviously non of you have heard of fecal incontinence. You can wash and scrub till you’re blue in the face but you won’t feel your shit coming out.
if he is spotlessly clean it’s something to talk about.

spookehtooth · 24/10/2023 14:58

Maybe he needs a rear view mirror to help check?

There might be a training school somewhere, or just instructions on good technique online like you get for washing your hands and brushing your teeth.

I wish more public loos for us men had automatic flushing 🙏 This isn't the only issue, there's flushing and not getting pee on the floor. It can be a bit of an obstacle course sometimes
