I was wondering similar today but about Huw Edwards…was all over then just never mentioned again. I think it’s just because other news overtakes it so the media forget about it. Yesterdays news is todays fish and chip wrapping?! Or something like that 🙈

Police are investigating some of the allegations so there will be limits on what the press can report, it'll resurface once the investigations are finished.

People just move on quick, especially when there is always so much news.

Same with MN and things like XL bully threads.
You have a few days of multiple threads and then it moves on to the next thing.

Thanks all, thought it must have been something legal. I’m aware news moves on but the way it went from 100 to 0 was abrupt and unnatural especially considering how much of a build up it had, the rumours that someone high profile was going to be outed were around a few days before it happened etc.

He's the subject of two ongoing police investigations, so until those are finished there doesn't seem to be much more to report because the press has already printed everything known before, plus there are often reporting restrictions around ongoing cases.

News cycle moving on. Hopefully any additional women who might have come forward to the media have felt empowered to go to the police instead. But also I’m sure he has expensive lawyers clamping down on any speculation. I expect there’ll be more reporting if something else happens with the police investigations.

Huw Edwards was trial by media. Russell Brand was investigative journalism.

Is it just me or was the Russell Brand story in every newspaper 24/7 a few weeks ago. It’s now not being mentioned at all and there’s complete radio silence. What could have caused this? Could the media have been silenced? Why would this happen, is it a legal thing? Just wondering.

The terrorist attack and subsequent war takes precedence. But the media will pick it up soon… but not before all hostages are returned.
