Bruising without reason

In 15 hours this is how worse my bruising has gotten, 111 just telling me I'll get an appointment within 3 days without even seeing a photo of it, should I go to a&e or at I being dramatic. Never experienced this so I have no idea what to do

I had something similar a few years ago, my FP gave me a save say appointment and they took lots of bloods and tested for pretty much everything they could think of.

Turned out to be my steroid asthma inhaler!

StampOnTheGround · 21/10/2023 07:29

Hope all is well OP!

Northumberlandlass · 21/10/2023 15:42

Hi @cloudxo - have been thinking about you. Hope all is ok!

AhBiscuits · 21/10/2023 15:45

How are you getting on OP?

ALunchbox · 21/10/2023 15:48

Is everything ok, OP?

Sinamin · 21/10/2023 16:08

Got my fingers crossed for you OP, cannot believe how dismissive some posters have been.

KVick · 21/10/2023 16:13

Could be liver disease. I hope Op is ok!

coaltitsrock · 21/10/2023 16:21

I had something like that once and it was an ultra rare reaction to a specific antibiotic. GP was very alarmed and arranged a whole barrage of blood tests the same day. Hope you are ok, OP.

gotomomo · 21/10/2023 16:59

I hope no news here is good news op? Please do let us know

Cowlover89 · 21/10/2023 17:04

I hope you're okay x

Kittycat43 · 21/10/2023 17:15

I'm glad you decided to get checked. Hope you're ok. Check in with an update if you can as these threads can be really helpful

cloudxo · 21/10/2023 21:20

Hi all, sorry for not responding sooner, the doctor basically said that sometimes our clotting system freaks out and bruising can appear, apparently my bloods were all fine and he told me to go back if i got any new or fresh bruising.. felt a little dismissed to be fair he basically said looks fine and sent me on my way, I also had an ecg as heart was beating at a tachycardic level and high blood pressure, ecg came back abnormal but they signed it off as fine apparently due to my age as I'm only 23 they can come with abnormalities.. wasn't very happy I feel like they clearly had a whole bunch of problems and red flags and completely ignored it, I'm getting into contact with my gp on Monday morning to discuss

I’m pleased you went to a&e & also pleased you’ll go back to your GP Monday.

The reason I was so alarmed when you posted (and didn’t want to panic you) was my Mum, after feeling under the weather for a while got bruising on her legs. The GP ran a blood test & she had a call the next day telling her to go to a particular ward at city hospital. After a bone marrow test, they diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukaemia within 2 days & she was in hospital for 3 months having intensive chemo. They said she would have died if the blood test at the GP’s hadn’t been done.

Sending best wishes to you

Hi again another update as soon as I woke up this morning I contacted 111 again the assurances me i was wrongly dismissed yesterday, I met with an acute GP 9 o'clock this morning for a second ecg that was also abnormal and supraventricula tachycardia, the diagnosed heart arrhythmia and I have be moved to hospital for cardiology to take a closer look, the bruising is still unexplained but at least I'm getting somewhere

That must be scary but also a big relief that someone is taking you seriously!
Good luck!

LakieLady · 22/10/2023 17:02

Thank goodness they're looking into things now, OP.

Fingers crossed that it's something that's easily sorted.

I would be going to A&E. May be over dramatic but could it be meningitis or signs of sepsis? I hope you're OK.

TBF fair, these diagnoses would have been considered by the 111 assessment, with safety netting given about when to attend an emergency department or call 999, & OP is unlikely to be posting coherently on Mumsnet if that unwell

Rosebud21 · 22/10/2023 17:04

I'm also glad that you're being assessed

Muddle2000 · 22/10/2023 18:02

We have post thrombotic syndrome experience (10 bloody years) No need to panic but get to A and E no need for ambulance We are not medically qualified but this does need a specialist

I certainly didnt like the idea that you were throwing off clots! clots can and do travel and cause major complications is pulmonary embolism etc. svt's are actually pretty common but all heart arythmias need to be fully investigated

blarm · 25/10/2023 16:56

How are you doing now?
