Anyone have any experience of this and what will happen next?
ds13 was shown an explicit video at school of a child aged 13 having sex with another child.

i have reported to school
I previously reported to social services but nothing happened.
will anything happened or will this just continue and we have to accept that we just live in this world ?

You need to put it in writing so there is a paper trail.

Bigfuzzywuzzybear · 19/10/2023 12:07

I would have thought the police and social services would be enough
I had thought that they would contact the school

Has anyone any experience of this? Will they just ignore it? Or will something be done

Pointless if you're going to just keep asking the same question, be vague and basically aren't listening.

Mumofoneandone · 19/10/2023 12:09

Contact LADO - should find with a Google search.

DivingForLove · 19/10/2023 12:09

Definitely put it in writing to school’s DSL (should be on their website). No one will tell you what’s been done - it’s totally confidential.

Mikimoto · 19/10/2023 12:15

Write an email copying in the Head and governors if possible, asking them if they think the best way forward is for you to contact the Daily Mail.
See if they reply to that.

Kinneddar · 19/10/2023 12:17

If you reported it 2 weeks ago to the Police then it'll be getting dealt with it can just take some time. Just because you haven't heard anything doesn't mean it's getting ignored unfortunately like most things nothing happens overnight

travelallthetime · 19/10/2023 12:19

What happened when you reported it to the police? How do you know nithing is being done? It is a serious offence and would be taken seriously by all officers involved. However, things take A LONG time to deal with and two weeks is not a long time!

Cyclingforcake · 19/10/2023 12:19

Did you post about this a couple of weeks ago? If so I think you should link to your previous thread so people can see you have taken it seriously and are now on round 2 of trying to get authority figures to listen.

mumda · 19/10/2023 12:20

My friend's experience of reporting this sort of horrific thing is they had to make a complaint that it wasn't being dealt with before anything happened.

CharlotteUnaNatalieThompson · 19/10/2023 12:22

Something similar although not identical happened at my dc school. Children in question arrested for child pornography (for having images on their phone). Don't know what happened after that though

Yes, it should be taken seriously.

Circumferences · 19/10/2023 12:24

The school absolutely need to intervene here

Who is sharing the video?
Where did the video come from in the first place?
Why are children using their smartphones (to watch videos) in school shouldn't they be banned during school hours?
Sharing videos of underage sex/child rape is a serious crime why aren't they acting?

Mari9999 · 19/10/2023 12:25

@Bigfuzzywuzzybear
I would think that 2 weeks might not be enough time to say that nothing is happening. Do you have any realistic idea how long it takes police or social services to work through any issue? I would not necessarily conclude that nothing is being done.

An identical story was posted the other day and removed for being a troll...

Yes I suppose it’s just worrying me that it seems to be growing

Imagine trolling over something so serious. Sickos.

But surely the children involved parents would be contacted to alert them and stop this behaviour continuing ?

If you haven't already report to the school's DSL (designated safeguarding Lead).
They should report to the police and social services.
They can also confiscate the phones of those that you report and review content (if they can get in the phone) and send on to the police.

But you may never find out what has been done.

Bigfuzzywuzzybear · 19/10/2023 12:33

Def not trolling

I did post about 2 weeks ago but asked it was taken down as in my upset I had given to much detail and didn’t it to go the wrong way

Yes I spoke to the DSL and she said if she asks he will only deny so will pass straight to children’s care
