About the Coleen Rooney documentary

I’m fully prepared to be told IBU.

I just can’t get on board with this documentary. Parading about a premiere as if it wasn’t some tawdry affair that was splashed all over the newspapers.

AIBU? Can someone tell me if there’s a good reason why this documentary exists other than to further line the pockets of the Rooneys?

Oh I dunno it looks great a total riot 😄 it's raining here I'm going to watch it later, maybe if RV wasn't such a nasty gossip then the Rooneys wouldn't have made this, they were/are entitled to a private life despite their celebrity and Rebecca Vardy betrayed her friends for attention and maybe money .

All over some tittle tattle in the media which she is part of when it suits her but can't stand anyone else profiting when they do it!

Because people like to watch documentaries about people's lives. If no one was interested it wouldn't exist. Pretty sure they don't need the money, but of course she's entitled to tell her side of the story.

Yabu. I couldn't believe what personal photos and details the Sun and Vardy were using from Rooney's private account. I'd be warpath-y too.

Maybe watch it first. Rooney comes off as someone who has delt with the press all her life and had built a strong network of trusted friends around her so that she could lead some semblance of a normal life. It was the betrayal of trust that pushed her- after two years of leaked stories, some quite vicious reinterpretations of the truth- to finally reveal RV as the perpetrator.

As Jamie Vardy so eloquently put it ‘chat shit, get banged’. And indeed his wife was held accountable for profiting from other people’s personal misfortunes. I have no sympathy with her.

Why are reality shows being rebranded as documentaries. There’s not much to document in an intellectual sense about a WAG. It’s just mindless celebrity gossip with as much mental stimulation as Love Island.

According to a red top Rebecca vardy has "fled" the UK in the wake of the documentary being released ! Basically she's posing in a bikini on holiday with her sad face ! Its all just ridiculous.

I am interested to hear what CR has to say to be honest. We all hear news reports and snippets of info. We know that RV has denied it was her etc. but to hear from CR herself how she put the pieces together and what actually happened is interesting. After hearing what CR and others have to say within the documentary it's undeniable that RV was involved. Either directly or indirectly. She knew what was going on and used the posts to give her positive publicity in the Sun. Not sure about the 'premiere' showing though.....thought that was a bit weird but the documentary I think it a great way to show CR's side of things.

I've only watched the first one so far and found it interesting. The thought of Colleen being followed to school by the paparazzi at just 16 is quite dreadful.

She's put up with years and years of this shit from the press and for one of her "close circle" to be leaking her private Insta posts was horrible. I can only imagine the paranoia it caused. How on earth do you know who to trust?? I don't blame her for going in to full PI mode and setting a trap, and I don't blame her for calling it out.

Would it have been better to have just contacted RV on the quiet and say that the last post was a trap and that she'd fallen in to it, blocked her and moved on? Maybe, but as CR said herself, when she's put her mind to something she'll see it through.

She was clever to say that it was RV's "account", not just RV personally. I wonder whether she was suspicious that RV's own team had access and were sharing info without RV's knowledge. No-one likes to think badly of others, so it almost felt like she was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt a little.

I like CR though. She comes across as a tough cookie, though Wayne has been a shit at times. I can't decide if she's a fool to have put up with him, or whether his non-drunk self is actually worth her staying for. You can tell he really hated being interviewed though!

Watched it and really liked it. Got better as it went along. Thought it attempted to be balanced and not unkind towards Vardy. Tabloids did not come out great in my view.

Was really interesting in the third episode about the legal challenge- not that Vardy has seen the posts; but that it was conclusively Vardy that passed it to the Sun. It did make me wonder why Rooney had not got legal advice earlier (and how that could have made things different). But I did find Rooney's account compelling of the impact that the leaks were having on her; and the mistrust it was creating

Have just finished watching this and had a search for a thread about it! CR came across as so measured and strong, she was very impressive. Loved how she had kept so many local- and loyal - friends throughout the years. The documentary was shot well and was beautiful to watch. It also explains why she has stayed with Wayne despite his mistakes... I think truly she is all about her family and making life better for them. Showed the dark side of fame, for sure, but we'll done CR for going after justice!

Obviously it’s also about PR but it’s a pretty normal human thing to want to give your side of the story particularly if you were wronged. Surely that in itself isn’t surprising?

Tbh I find it a bit weird that so many don’t understand the law & how it ended up in court. The interesting bit is that Colleen won.
