Revels - anyone else do this?

A lightweight conundrum for you all this cold dark evening …
Bloody love a chocolate Revel. But I hate the coffee ones. 🤢 The orange ones however are 👩‍🍳😘
I bite them in half then chuck it if it’s coffee. Kind of Russian roulette with a bag of chocolate kind of vibe.

Is this wrong? YABU
Yep I do it. I do or would if I’d thought of it YANBU

If you chill then you can nibble a bit of chocolate off so you can see whether it’s coffee or orange.

The naked Minstrels are my favourite though - always save them until last.

Takes me back to my (70s, not well off) childhood when my sister and I would sometimes be given a bag of Revels to share. We had a game whereby we emptied the bag and then took one sweet at a time, making a guess which flavour you'd got. Neither of us liked the coffee ones and orange was definitely the flavour we both wanted to find! The different flavours definitely used to be slightly different shapes and sizes so with practice you could get quite skilled at working out which the best ones were. I don't know if that is still the case as I haven't had a packet for years. Might have to buy some tomorrow...

Do any of you remember the tv advert for Revels?
It was so funny..filmed like The Deer Hunter... very dark but instead of a getting the bullet playing Russian Roulette it was the coffee chocolate!

What?! No I’ve never seen this! Would love a link if anyone knows it??

I would never by them but DH loves them and will give me a couple of the flat ones and a couple of maltesers although at times he will give me a coffee one or orange one because it is bigger than normal. He thinks he is hilarious!

What we need is some sort of swap service whereby people who hate the coffee/ orange whatever ones could fish them out and send them off to people who love them, in exchange for one they don’t like. Might get a bit complicated though 🤔

The nasty raisin ones are small so tend to drop to the bottom. I scoff all the others then kindly present the dregs to my husband.

I'm pretty sure the raisin ones replaced the peanuts. That was much later iirc.
