I understand why they are so set on destroying Hamas

Having seen the stories of the women and girls raped at the festival (reportedly over their dead friends bodies) and the people taken off as hostage; I understand why Israel want to destroy Hamas. They have said that Hamas militants are dead men. They have said that they will go after them. The worst killing of Jewish people since the Holocaust and their 9/11 with death toll of over 1300 people.

Yet some people celebrated when the killings of Jewish people (they were from many different countries) at the festival was announced.

I feel sadness for everything going on in the middle east and for all the people who are innocent are are dying. Terrorists need to be stopped.

Then you want Israel to die.

Happy to wring your hands over Palestinians being used as human meat shields by Hamas, but not giving a shit about the slaughter that will keep happening if Israel leaves Hamas to grow in strength again.

There is no ‘de-escalation’ to be had. That is beyond a pipe dream at this point.

Any lull will just result in Hamas gathering weapons and man power to slaughter more, whilst simultaneously still abusing and starving their own people.

Please point out where I said that 2 million people should be starved?

At the end of the day I'm not sure how relevant it is how many Palestinians support Hamas. I didn't vote for the Torries, but if they launched a terrorist attack on the people of another state I wouldn't be surprised to find bombs raining down on me.

There have been palestinian children in prison in solitary confinement for over 10 years, women and children repeatedly beaten and murdered, elderly people thrown out of their own homes where they were born to be replaces with israeli citizens. Little boys taken from their parents and dragged behind cars to prison!!!!

And you cry about this? They have had enough of living in an open air prison and repeated sanctions and torture.

I don’t think Israel will mediate with anyone otherwise they’d have agreed to a humanitarian corridor or even suggested a kinder transport type thing to save the children in Gaza.

On MN, we always hear "when someone shows you who they are, believe them". Hamas have shown us who they are. They've created and spread their own graphic video footage to show who they are. They state in their manifesto who they are. The one thing I will give them is that they have shown, overtly, indisputably, who they are.

Why don't people believe them?

Well thankfully, some of us have a whole brain, and understand that Israel has no choice- destroy (Hamas) or be obliterated. Stick to your self-appointed moral high ground all you like.

Even in UK law, we understand there are times where self-defence is necessary, we even legislate for this.

It's called proportionality- and Israel trying to destroy Hamas's operational set ups is the very least in defence that could be expected.

Defence from a group who refused to negotiate, refused recognition as it's own state, refuses security of its own people. Defence from a group who will stop at nothing until Israel falls.

They've certainly shown now. The stuff I have seen now on Twitter is beyond belief. Dead babies, burnt beyond recognition, 3 beheaded adults. Blood and bodies everywhere. Most of it filmed by Hamas.

One of the things I don't understand is how Hamas are even getting the weapons into Gaza. They are blockaded on all sides, including the sea, so where the heck are they getting rocket launchers and rockets from?

Or do what? Let hamas carry on killing Israelis because they don't want to risk harming a child they've hidden amongst?

I believe them now. Israel should definitely believe that given the opportunity they would be annihilated to the last child. They were so pleased with themselves on Saturday as well, genuine glee with all the live streaming atrocities like mini Dahmers or school shooters.
