So nothing biblical.

For me today it was ASDA, 1pm on a Sunday, event going on nearby so huge amount of traffic to get in, even longer queues inside, screaming kids, adults barging by you, having to queue for customer service.

Anything else would include cave diving, pot holing or being on a submarine.

Second camping.

annual work ‘retreat’ (small business) where we all have to plaster on a smile and pretend great positivity and optimism for the future.

Actually the turnover was 28% down on last year, the competitors are doing better and they’re going to tell us there’ll be no Christmas bonus because they’re ‘investing for the future.’

everyone thinking they must be the only doubter.

Absolutely this too! Why do people go there?!

I’m intrigued- I have never been - what’s it’s like?

Tessisme · 09/10/2023 07:06

Anywhere with crowds and queues. Crowds make me panic. I have no patience for queuing. Thank God my children are no longer interested in family 'fun' days or fairs🤣

Rabbitsco · 09/10/2023 07:08

An evening with floaty hippy women doing tarot and talking about flow and energy

Mariposista · 09/10/2023 07:08

Sitting on my arse at home all day, with no job.

BlackJumpsuit · 09/10/2023 07:10

A packed train (standing), not even room to take any layers off, hot and sweaty, add in someone else's awful music or loud conversation AND a horrible smell for the perfect storm.

Reading the news makes me think Hell is all around us; it's just the most depressing world at the moment.

It’s really is, but this is a lighthearted thread otherwise my answer would’ve been similar

Being in hospital. I’m having major surgery on Wednesday and I know there’s no hope of me recovering until I get home. The constant noise drives me insane. I’ve splashed out on noise cancelling headphones - I really hope they work.

My hell, too - I hope it all goes well. Would also recommend an eye mask for when they insist on keeping the massive fluorescent lights on all night.

pink1173 · 09/10/2023 07:19

Any Zara’s. The are always so hot and the queues for the tills and the changing rooms are always hideous. I was in there for an hour yesterday just so my daughter could try on one teeny weeny top.

NonMiDispiace · 09/10/2023 07:20

Anywhere involving crowds
Potholing
Anything with heights
Coconut, actual/scented/flavoured 🤢

Bobadob18 · 09/10/2023 07:26

A ferry
Motorway service station in the school holidays
any festival
entertainment at a caravan park
oh gosh I could literally go on and on!

LittleMG · 09/10/2023 07:26

Sickness bugs the threat of them, getting them, the kids having them. Terrifying.

Dahlia82 · 09/10/2023 07:29

Team Days. Forced fun.

MinnieMountain · 09/10/2023 07:31

I think I can say the office Christmas party. Luckily it means an overnight stay (paid for) on the weekend I typically celebrate my birthday, so I can avoid it.
Hen dos.
Camping.

ChaToilLeam · 09/10/2023 07:31

Camping in Scotland with rain and midges ☔️
Travelling on an overcrowded train with a hangover 😵
A party with insufficient booze with the host’s overindulged children allowed to stay up late and demonstrate their musical skills 😩

Being somewhere where there is no kindness

ChaosAndCrumbs · 09/10/2023 07:34

I came on with different answer in my head. Apparently I need to lighten up 😂

Loud entertainment where youre asked to get up on stage.
Having to meet strangers in a situation where everyone’s eyes are on you.
Flights where your toddler screams and you want the ground to swallow you up.
Bars where you can’t hear anyone talk because the music is so loud.
Shops playing music so loudly you can’t concentrate on your list.

Disneyland.

Yes this!!!!! And also going on a cruise! To me they’re both artificial environments and when I travel I prefer to see the natural environment and understand the culture of the place I’m visiting.

Living in a terraced house in Sheffield or Leeds.

Do tell.

Don’t know Sheffield but DD lives in a terrace in north Leeds between Roundhay and Chapel Allerton, she is the envy of her friends, and it’s a great place to live.

There’s Leeds and Leeds.

hellohellothere · 09/10/2023 07:35

Paintballing

MrsLighthouse · 09/10/2023 07:38

All of the above …except at Christmas 🙄

LyndaSnellsSniff · 09/10/2023 07:38

I very stupidly caught a train from Edinburgh to London the day after the Fringe Festival finished. Nowhere to sit, loads of Fringe performers with huge amounts of kit and the only available place to stand was beside a toilet. The very worst bit though, was a man who was trying to make it to the toilet to be sick but, because of the number of crammed in passengers, failed and threw up on the floor.

🤮
