So nothing biblical.

For me today it was ASDA, 1pm on a Sunday, event going on nearby so huge amount of traffic to get in, even longer queues inside, screaming kids, adults barging by you, having to queue for customer service.

Anything else would include cave diving, pot holing or being on a submarine.

@GarlicGrace - You do know that was lighthearted don’t you? 😀

Sprouts make the house smell twice; once when you cook them and again when you fart.

White knickers look utilitarian and purely functional on me; l wouldn’t like anyone see me getting undressed wearing them😲

Work Christmas Functions.
I mostly like my workmates but giving up an evening, close to Christmas , when I would rather be at home with a glass wine/cup tea… extra points if there is a bloody Secret Santa.

All of the above …except at Christmas 🙄

I understand not likening Christmas if there's some sadness due to loss or loneliness but yeah I think it's usually miserable sods who don't like Christmas for the sake of it. Don't need to go overboard with gifts etc to enjoy it.

Being on an all day bus journey in a country with no proper roads so the bus bounces up and down constantly and you feel sick.

Plus the radio is blasting pop music the whole route. Everyone else is loving the music - no way you can ask for it to be turned down a bit.

No proper wee stops and youre on day 2 of your period and so basically wearing a nappy. At the minimal stops you’re worried you’ve spent too long finding an loo and weeing and the bus will have gone. You cannot speak the language of course, because you’re a stupid westerner who didn’t think the word “toilet” would be so vital.

Plus it’s 40 degrees and 100% humidity outside and the air con is blasting inside so there is no outfit that’s comfortable (plus of course nowhere to change), so you spend the day building up a sweat outside, then the sweat cooling and shivering for the time in the bus.

driving alongside mountains/cliffs/anything with a scary drop, especially if there are no barriers

SquashPenguin · 09/10/2023 07:44

People talking about Taylor Swift.

One of those indoor trampoline places opened on an industrial estate a few towns away from our village. Indoor trampoline bounce party with unlimited wall of fill your own slushies. Place stinks of sweat and feet. Staff are sullen whey faced teens and the floor is sticky from stinky spilled slushies.

the place has an undertone of aggression with lots of parents with neck tattoos and lip fillers. Lots of swearing. At children. At one another.

Grim.

Hell.

Never ever again.

How do you correlate lip files with aggression?

wiseoldtree · 09/10/2023 07:47

A Taylor Swift concert.

Not that I'd ever go but she sucks so I imagine her gigs are a bore fest,

Rabbitsco · 09/10/2023 07:48

I imagine she is saying it's a bit rough.

OurRotatingPlanet · 09/10/2023 07:48

Late Sunday evening festival toilets. Just beyond grim. It is what puts me off every time.

SoRainbowRhythms · 09/10/2023 07:49

Baby showers.

KimberleyClark · 09/10/2023 07:49

Having to host for perfectionist and critical people. Especially if they watch me in the kitchen

Oh this. Hell on earth is an open plan kitchen/dining area.

Cocteautriplet · 09/10/2023 07:51

Im a bit terrified of driving on motorways and that recent story of a man being trapped in a malfunctioning electric car really freaked me out (our car is fully Electric). My nightmare would be being stuck in an electric malfunctioning car travelling faster and faster on the m25 😳

Ferries
Going on holiday to any country where you are constantly having to take security measures and be on guard.

An enclosed sauna or temazcal.
A vegan cafe playing freeform jazz.
Primark on Black Friday.

Pinkelephant26 · 09/10/2023 07:58

Butlins
Butlins at Christmas
Butlins swimming pool
Butlins entertainment
Any holiday entertainment
Delayed flight with overtired children on board
Friday night town centre pubs
(I did LOL at ‘Blackburn’ from a PP - I grew up there and agree, esp on a Friday night)
Living next to noisy, shouty, chain smoking neighbours

Anything too peoply really. I love my friends and family and being in their company but have very limited capacity to tolerate the presence of others.

bonzaitree · 09/10/2023 07:58

The small talk about Craig’s weekend before the Teams meeting starts.

shudder

Apart from the rug department. The rug department's great.

Cruises. Just float round on a massive ship seeing feck all until you get 4 hours in a really lovely destination along with 5000 others at the exact same time. The rest of the time you are trapped with a load of randoms some of whom will probably want to try and make friends shudders

Was going to say the same. Can't think of anything worse for all the reasons you gave plus having to 'dress for dinner'.

The only cruise I would ever consider would be an Arctic circle one to hopefully see the Northern lights and everyone us wearing parkas

MsRosley · 09/10/2023 08:04

Other people. With Sartre on that one.
