It's 23 degrees in the NW. This isn't normal.

So I don’t think it is that unusual.

I see from the map that I live in the zone below an average of 15° so maybe I remember warmer days more than those living further south. Even a temperature of 18° can feel warm up here!

StillWantingADog · 08/10/2023 15:11

“Autumn 2022 (September, October, November) was the third warmest on record for the UK, with an average mean temperature of 11.1C, topped only by 2011 and 2006’s Autumn figures, in a series which goes back to 1884. “

met office. So this autumn could be warmer than last year, but that would make the the four warmest autumns on record, to have all happened in the last twenty years.

@Kallister
you don’t need to convince me. I find most people (and the government) ‘s apathy utterly depressing

Just looked and the warmest temp in London last October was 22. This was actually at the end of the month- a year ago the high was 19.

it is 25 degrees in London today

warm days in October are normal. Days this warm are not.

19 on the north east coast - I don’t like this at all. I want proper autumn weather - it’s to be 18-19 overnight tonight 😫

It's only 16 in my part of the north east and we're usually warmer than the coast! It's funny old weather

Mammyloveswine · 08/10/2023 15:50

Christ it's only thr beginning of October! Hardly like it's mid December!!

It's usually always nice late sept/early October!!!

It's not unusual

I remember 20 years ago it was oct half term and the kids were out in shorts and t shirts. We were looking at old photos a few days ago and I remarked on it

This day last year was similiar to today

Yes it was, we went up to Edinburgh to look round the university for my sister and everyone was in shorts and t shirts and this would have been the very end of October, plus it was Scotland!

What on earth is @Kallister saying on a weather thread that is SO offensive to be deleted!?

Some nice weather is welcome as Summer was a rainy season more than a proper summer.

I didn't see anything outside of posting about the weather changes and such. Pretty sure that isn't against the forum rules? Is a mod a climate denier maybe?

MatthewsMumFromTikTok · 08/10/2023 18:14

No idea, didn't see the posts at all

I enjoyed a coffee this morning in the lovely sunshine ☀️

I'm usually wrong , but any nice weather in September was known as an ' Indian summer '
No idea why to be honest
Nice weather in October is unusual and it has been very warm ( south East)

Lastchancechica · 08/10/2023 18:32

26c here and I am in an amazing mood because of it!! Shortens the winter and is good for everyone. It’s like a summers day.
