Too much in the machine? It can't spin properly I think

menopausalmare · 05/10/2023 12:57

Stick it back in the machine and do the rinse and spin setting

MyJetNowAirlines · 05/10/2023 12:57

Come out of where? Your washing machine?

Is it spinning?
Is it draining?

ApolloandDaphne · 05/10/2023 12:58

If it's been in the washing machine, it's unlikely to be dry.

Can you clarify exactly what you mean?

123becauseicouldntthinkofone · 05/10/2023 12:58

Mine did this a few weeks back and it wasnt spinning because the motor had gone afraid. i did have someone look at it and they said it would be more expensive to fix than to buy a new one.. Or it could be something simple as brushes.

Oh don't be so snarky, I knew what she meant immediately

DanielRicciardosSmile · 05/10/2023 12:58

Is the drain blocked? You can unscrew it and see if something is in there. Make sure you put something underneath it first though or you could cause a flood.

icelollycraving · 05/10/2023 12:59

Is it coming out in a pool of water? Have you tried spinning small loads?

Curiosity101 · 05/10/2023 12:59

Filter could be clogged, I've had stray baby/toddler socks get stuck in there before and stop the machine draining properly.

saveforthat · 05/10/2023 13:00

Was there something very heavy in there?. This happens to me with a super king heavy thread count bedding. Just untangle and spin again

lalaloopyhead · 05/10/2023 13:00

Our washing machine does this time - its not spinning properly for some reason. Checking the drain at the bottom usually sorts it...I've found hair clips and all sorts in there.

Hygeelady · 05/10/2023 13:00

Either the drain is blocked and you need to try and empty it at the bottom.

Or sometimes mine did this when I overloaded it, it didn't spin as it was too heavy.

Thewizardbinbag · 05/10/2023 13:00

Have you got a washer/dryer combo machine? I’ve owned two and with both, after a couple years, the clothes come out the wash soaking and the dryer doesn’t dry anymore.

Crumpleton · 05/10/2023 13:01

Is the machine actually spinning?

Is the filter clear/clean as if not this can stop the machine from draining so the machine won't spin.

Moveoverdarlin · 05/10/2023 13:01

This happens to me when I overload it with particularly heavy things like towels or bath mats. Split the wash in two, and put it back in on the spin cycle only. It’s about 15 mins long.

fruitpastille · 05/10/2023 13:02

Try another spin. Otherwise check the pump as pp said. Likely a small object in there. It can take a while a drain the water out. I catch it in an old ice cream carton and pour it into a bucket as it gets full. There's probably a you tube video.

The fact op has said "soaked" rather than wet indicates it's not normal wet, and I doubt she was expecting it to be dry.

Why be mean and snarky?

This - pretty much every time a washing machine has done this for me, it's been the drain - you'll be amazed what you can find in it too...

Achdinnae · 05/10/2023 13:05

As PPs said it's possibly a blocked filter or drain. There are lots of YouTube videos showing you how to clear this. You will also be able to get a copy of the machine's instruction manual online. It will tell you where the filter is and what to do. Crossing my fingers for you.

Do this you do need some towels and a tupperware to drain though.

ApolloandDaphne · 05/10/2023 13:09

I wasn't being snarky. They could have come out her tumble drier as wet as they went in. I genuinely was looking for some clarification

Mrsjayy · 05/10/2023 13:10

Oh someone is prepared with you tube videos.

Marsyas · 05/10/2023 13:10

Filter blocked probably, that’s what happened with ours.

Emotionallyoverwhelmed · 05/10/2023 13:24

This happened to mine, there was a collection of hair grips and stickers in the filter, cleared the muck out and it's been working fine since. I was panicked too that I would have to buy a new machine, it is stressful when something you rely on isn't doing what it's meant to. If it's not the filter it could be a blocked outlet pipe, the water can't leave so sits in the drum making the clothes wet still.
