AIBU to bring 'Fat Bear Week' to your attention?

This gave me a little bubble of joy this morning and I want to share it. Here are all the details.

Voting on the fattest bear starts today at this link. I can't wait for the children to get home so we can vote.

I've attached a picture of '747'. Bless his little grumpy face on his BIG bear body.

Black Bears will attack humans, if desperate. Sadly a black bear killed a woman at a work site just North of us. It attacked her as she was leaving a washroom.

Two people were killed by grizzlies in Alberta in 2021.

I hadn't heard of these so thank you, I've just googled them and they look stunning, the cubs are adorable.

Totally. But how do they withstand the icy temperatures of water for such a long time? Does their fur repel water? If all that floof absorbs water it must be FREEZING and they seem to spend a long time in the water. I read somewhere that bears body temperature is roughly the same as ours (but I can't remember where I read that).

Grazer Vs. Holly - both superb icons of feminist bearhood. Wish this were the final. So difficult to chose, but I'm voting Holly. I love that she has previously adopted orphaned cubs which is so unusual for bears.

Gosh that was so hard but I went for big G Grazer in the end. Then I saw Holly didn't have many votes and felt so sad for her! Although she probably isn't very aware she is competing in Fat Bear Week but still.

Grazer vs Chunk - as expected. Sad for Holly but, as WhiskersPete points out, she's not aware she's competing in FBW, so she won't care.
