This gave me a little bubble of joy this morning and I want to share it. Here are all the details.

Voting on the fattest bear starts today at this link. I can't wait for the children to get home so we can vote.

I've attached a picture of '747'. Bless his little grumpy face on his BIG bear body.

Nobel winner announced. I'm afraid I don't recognise the name at all. Now champing at the bit to be able to vote for my favourite Fat Bear, but I see the poll doesn't open until 9am Pacific Standard Time, which I think is 5pm here. I am not noted for my patience.

I started watching this channel on YouTube last year and got addicted. This year there less salmon so the bears haven’t gained as much but they have still gained hugely. I almost envy them, imagine sleeping through winter and then gorging as much as you want during spring and summer!

This is ridiculous, I can't find the lovely fat bears because my phone is a wanker. How do I nominate myself as a contender in this fat bear contest btw?

No, it’s Colbert although people have started referring to him as Bear Force One. But because his number is so coincidentally appropriate most just use 747.

I so love Fat Bear Week. I got so invested last year it was embarrassing. I promise not to do the same this week (apart from the "Go Holly" pom poms and posters I've ordered of course).

My teenager says they are all "absolute units".

First time I've come across fat bear week but I can't wait for DS to get home from school so I can show him and we can select our favourite. I haven't looked yet so we can choose together.

@ErrolTheDragon - That is correct. He was named 747 because he is as big as plane. Would not like to be in his path when he takes off!

@heldinadream - I'm stuck in the middle with you too. Although, if pushed, I'd have to declare a bigger interest in the outcome of who is the fattest bear.
