To ask how I can quickly lose 8 stone?

Weightlosswonders · 02/10/2023 19:27

I need to lose 8 stone as fast as possible.

In an ideal world I would do it more slowly and in the healthiest possible way but due to current circumstances, I need to lose it as quickly as possible.

Im looking into a possible meal replacement diet but that’s looking rather pricey! (Around £12 a day which is too much for one person!)

All suggestions welcome. (my interim target is 4 stone by Christmas) and I’d welcome any advice from anyone who’s down similar.

omg just realised I did my maths wrong and you want to lose 50 kgs in 3 months! attempting that is basically a death wish.

there is no valid medical reason for doing this and no medical professional would ever reccommend it.

it's not a question of not ideal, this is putting your life at risk.

mynameiscalypso · 02/10/2023 20:23

My assumption is that OP needs something like IVF for which you have to be 1) under a certain weight and 2) under a certain age.

Simplepink · 02/10/2023 20:24

Again Ozempic or Wegovy but tricky to get hold of atm.
also still probably won’t lose 8 stone in that timeframe even with ozempic plus calorie counting.

AInightingale · 02/10/2023 20:24

Please don't start running if you are eight stones overweight. That would be absolute lunacy. You will wreck your joints and end up in a worse place than ever.

Fast 800 is steady weight loss over a 12 week period but you'll not lose more than three stones max.

SheRasBra · 02/10/2023 20:25

Lipotrim or Exante but you have to stick to it religiously without cheating and take something for constipation. Once you are in ketosis you won't feel hungry but it's the habit of picking that many find hard to break. If you can walk or swim too the weight loss will be faster but you will need to switch to something more sustainable like keto ultimately to get into a changed pattern of eating to avoid regaining it all. Good luck. Your local pharmacy may have some weight loss plans and will monitor you as you go.

Simplepink · 02/10/2023 20:25

if you’re diabetic you may have a shot at getting the ozempic

TokyoSushi · 02/10/2023 20:25

I'm not sure that much is going to be possible that quickly OP, but you can definitely lose some.

I've lost 2st since 1st July on a strict 1200 calories per day a d working out (spinning/body pump/dance fit/swimming) x5 per week.

gamerchick · 02/10/2023 20:26

Risking gallstones if you do it too fast OP. You probably should speak to someone who knows their shit.

AquamarineGlass · 02/10/2023 20:27

I really think more than weight loss advice you need support as to what has prompted this distress to lose weight so urgently. I hope you have that.

AlwaysPrettyOnTheInside · 02/10/2023 20:27

Milkshakes. No deviation. I lost 3 1/2 st in about 3-4 months before.

Alternatively, low carb, low fat, low calorie, 16:8 with Alternative day fasting, max 1200 cals one day, 500 the next. I lost a stone in 2 weeks.

NeedToChangeName · 02/10/2023 20:29

Pancakepipsqueak · 02/10/2023 20:02

I’ve started the ketogenic diet (low low carb under 20g a day, high fat). Lost 20lb in 5 weeks (starting weight 16 stone).
first 3 days were rough but now I’m barely hungry. Eat around 1500 calories a day. Lots of bacon, lots of eggs, steak, some veg (avocado, leafy greens, some broccoli) and some strawberries, dark chocolate and double cream.

I can't get my head round a diet plan that includes bacon, steak and cream. Sounds like Atkins (now discredited)

Meowandthen · 02/10/2023 20:30

Cut off a leg?

Well you won’t tell people why so this is as good an answer as any. It’s a huge amount to lose in the timeframe.

SaveMeFromMyBoobs · 02/10/2023 20:30

To lose even 4 stone by Christmas is nuts. Why do you need to lose so much so fast? If it is something like IVF, this kind of weight loss would be unhealthy and frankly dangerous. The stress it would cause on your body, it has been known to damage internal organs, including your heart. Weakened bones, immune system, vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

If it was for a medical procedure I can't see you doing this then still being well enough to undergo it. When considering this type of weight loss you need significant professional input. At 22 stone you can probably get a couple of stone off quite quickly, but the closer you get to goal weight the harder and slower it will get. And when you do it in such a barbaric way, unsustainable.

MiniCooperLover · 02/10/2023 20:30

You can't do it too quickly or you'll cause issues with your gallbladder. You need to be sensible about it. 4 stone by Christmas is a LOT.

Allthecatsandcosyblankets · 02/10/2023 20:31

For me a vegan diet (few years ago) worked pretty quickly, so much so I lost a little too much & family were concerned, but I was eating like a horse. I don't think I was eating enough proteins or fats and didn't stick it longer than 6 months but I lost weight FAST

Dotcheck · 02/10/2023 20:33

Why Christmas?

Cakeorchocolate · 02/10/2023 20:34

Why the urgency?

It's an unrealistic and unhealthy target. Sorry I'm not blunt often, but sometimes it's necessary.

The main thing is setting realistic goals. I'd joined Team RH fitness, 1 week before finding out I was pregnant so never actually used it. But, if you're not offended by swearing, they seemed worth trying to me.

A decent, realistic, calorie count, walking, strength training / exercises.

Good luck.

OP is at huge risk of gallstones now!!!

She is 22 stone for goodness sake, obesity is a factor in risk of gall stones.

calishire · 02/10/2023 20:35

Fast800

TattedBarley · 02/10/2023 20:35

There is no quick fix for weight loss of this kind. It would have to be a sustainable and permanent lifestyle change. Shake diets and crazy food group / calorie restriction is not healthy or sustainable and you’ll only end up giving up or putting all the weight you lost back on, plus more. I was previously obese and am now at a healthy weight, it’s been a 5 year journey. Losing 4 stone in 11 weeks is just not a realistic target I’m afraid.

NeedToChangeName · 02/10/2023 20:35

Best lose weight under medical supervision

Myfitnesspal app is useful for recording diet and exercise

8 stone is a lot of weight to lose. I don't think it's safe or desirable to lose it too quickly. Be patient

Good luck

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 02/10/2023 20:36

People will give you all sorts of awful suggestions, but why is it urgent?

It really is a case of eat less, move more.

If you do a drastic shake diet then you'll likely be so miserable and hungry that you'll end up bingeing. I do much better if I eat a higher volume of lower calorie food - lots of veg, but sustainable meals rather than fads.

Also don't drink your calories. Scrap the booze, sugared soft drinks and juices etc.

Exercise helps but food is the key. If you consistently over eat, you'll never exercise it off.

Pressthespacebar · 02/10/2023 20:36

Gastric sleeve?

Dingdong99 · 02/10/2023 20:37

My friend and her husband are doing the injections and have lost 7 stone between them in 3 months

£££ tho at £200 a month but they're saving a lot on food as it's an appetite suppressant!!

Pancakepipsqueak · 02/10/2023 20:37

@NeedToChangeName ive heavily researched before doing the diet and it’s working well for me. Blood sugar stabilised, more energy, no brain fog, good sleep.
