How often do you eat at McDonalds?

Just interested. I think DH visits too often with the kids, he would take them even more if it wasn’t for me asking him not to.

For context he takes them once a fortnight, he would take them once or twice in a week if it wasn’t for me putting my foot down.

It annoys me as I do 90% of the parenting (he works away often) and I feel I can’t give them a lazy tea as they’re already having enough crap.

I know I’ll be criticised for that and not too interested - just wonder what other people do?

I've just been for one 😆

TumblingTower · 02/10/2023 14:12

Nando’s I can get on board with.

Never - DP worked at a factory where they made items for McD's - once you've seen that you can never un-see it and it puts you off for life!!!

Nopenopenopenopenopenope · 02/10/2023 14:16

When I was a kid I was taken once in a blue moon, maybe once or twice a year. I still go there about the same amount. It's fine in a pinch but it's not even cheap now, it's not exactly satiating, and it's so salty I would dessicate if I had it every day!

Helpel · 02/10/2023 14:23

Our kids do a training session for their sports team on a friday that is slap bang in the middle of dinner time - leave the house at 5.30, home at 7.30. So if we've not had time to do a super early dinner after school, we resort to a drive through on the way home. Probably works out as about twice a month. I think it's OK, but agree it puts pressure on not having more junk/freezer food on other days that week.

allhellcantstopusnow · 02/10/2023 14:31

A lot less if people refrained from writing threads about them. (I've just been).

surreygirl1987 · 02/10/2023 14:32

One a twice a month (or KFC)

I would class myself as middle class, late 30s and love a Maccys. Sitting in one now 😬😂 also love a Nando’s and cannot be made the same at home.
KFC and BK can do one though.

I stopped going to KFC a while ago. Don’t know if it’s just our local outlet, but it had become inedible - greasy and looked as though it had sat about under the lights for ages.

ConsuelaHammock · 02/10/2023 14:34

Once a month? I love the strawberry milkshakes.

My stepson worked in our local McD’s when he was at uni, and he wouldn’t eat there either after seeing some of the things that went on behind the scenes. He said we were better off not knowing !! We haven’t eaten there for a long time, since DH was served a burger in a bun that was mouldy.

TodayInahurry · 02/10/2023 14:56

Never, nor Burger King etc.

justteanbiscuits · 02/10/2023 15:12

I never had it as a kid as we didn't have a MacDonalds near enough! We had it once on holiday and it was very exciting LOL

My kids, maybe once a month when we're getting home late and we pass the drive through. But we do have other take away once a week, and they're teens.

I had my first KFC for a long time last night, and had a fillet zinger rice box as I'm not much of a chip fan. It was surprisingly good!

Humbugg · 02/10/2023 15:18

Maybe 6 times a year?

IReallyLikeYouButIWantToSeeHowThingsGoWithMark · 02/10/2023 16:04

I cannot say how much I want a McDonald’s now. 🍔🍔🍔

morag1234 · 02/10/2023 16:04

Probably once a week, but I do think it's too much.

Didn’t know they did rice - sounds good. We’re big Timmy Horton coffee and burger fans but appreciate they aren’t widespread in the uk.

I can only have the coffee at Horton’s as I have an allergy but OMG their French vanilla latte is amazing. I don’t have one often but they are good.

Maybe 4/5 times a year... just for the convenience if we are out and marving and realise we'd get home too late to cook a proper dinner.

We never took our first born into a McDonald's until he was 4 years old. 2 and a half year old younger sibling has been in several times 😆 it's hard to keep those first child standards up!

Frequency · 02/10/2023 16:26

Those who say they never eat Maccies/KFC etc. what do you eat when you are hungover?

The mere thought of having to cook when I am hungover makes me feel ill.

mathanxiety · 02/10/2023 16:28

Your H is being lazy.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 02/10/2023 16:30

A British Rail sausage roll was my go to for a hangover in my youth.

Fried egg butty now.

underneaththeash · 02/10/2023 16:31

Only DD likes MacDonalds in our house. I probably take her once every couple of months (but don't eat there myself).

DS1 gets a KFC at lunchtime once a week and DS2 doesn't like fast food.

I do eat McDs, but a fry up is my favourite hangover breakfast.

underneaththeash · 02/10/2023 16:31

@Frequency a Starbucks bacon sandwich!
