Iv been poorly for a week now with no end is sight.
my throat, nose and head is so painful. My lymph nodes under my jaw are really swollen to the point it hurts to open my mouth wide, and my jaw feels out of place abit. My whole head hurts. I’m starting to cough abit too :( I feel so poorly and oaknmillerd don’t seem to be touching it :(

iv taken a Covid test and it’s negative.

I feel like if my head wasn’t so achy it wouldn’t be too bad but it feels so heavy and sore :;

Yes. I'm out the other side now, but I felt horrible and very very tired for a week, and am still very low on energy.

MintJulia · 27/09/2023 05:32

Yes. Mine started with earache a week ago, had a headache on Saturday but then spent Sunday in a sweaty fever and slept 22 hours out of 24. Now I'm just tired and have a hacking cough.

It's vicious but at least it's fast-moving.

forevaworried · 27/09/2023 05:35

Yes! I started on Saturday night and was more or less bed/sofa ridden til yesterday afternoon. Two days off work which is unlike me as normally colds are bearable with appropriate amounts of medication. However since I had Covid the colds I’ve had have been horrendous. And so much worse than my Covid experience. Still not feeling amazing but hopefully over the worst now.

Starseeking · 27/09/2023 05:41

I have, I can't sleep for it now.

Had to leave work early yesterday as I had complete brain fog, and had to miss an important presentation, but was making errors and mistakes that really aren't like me. When I went in to tell my boss I had to go home early I got teary, which confirmed for me I shouldn't have gone in in the first place.

Going to the pharmacy first thing to dose up on meds and get a Covid test; I should really have got one a couple of days ago. I feel awful and just can't seem to shake this off.

Poudretteite · 27/09/2023 06:30

My kids all have it. I don't yet. A relative has tested + for Covid so might be that but I hope not

Musiclover234 · 27/09/2023 06:39

I work on a paediatric ward our swabs for cold/respiratory type symptoms are coming back for covid and RSV so it’s likely that at the minute. We’ve seen a lot more covid positives recently, schools going back, new variant maybe.

44PumpLane · 27/09/2023 06:44

You're describing my recent COVID symptoms.

My husband got it too.....he did two negative covid tests before he finally went positive a few days into the worst of the illness.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 27/09/2023 06:56

Sounds like COVID - I had this a few weeks ago and I'm still not right. Everyone at work is dropping like flies. We've all had differing test responses (think a lot of people have got quite old leftover tests now anyway).

WeWereInParis · 27/09/2023 06:58

DH currently has an awful cold that's making him miserable (and he's really not one to ever make a fuss over being ill) so I'm just waiting to catch it.
DD2 brought it home but wasn't as ill as DH, which always seems to be the way with the children and what they pass on to us!

KookyAndSpooky · 27/09/2023 07:06

Ergh, yes, and I'm 39 weeks pregnant. I just hope it's over before I go into labour.

Pandora55 · 27/09/2023 07:20

Yeah my whole house has it. Well actually we all have Covid. None of us tested positive until about 4 days in shockingly. The earache is fun urgh

Gorzf · 27/09/2023 07:25

Yes us too! Two families have had it at work. Not caught at work as we WFH. And one went on holiday and every member of his group who flew back on the plane caught COVID so looks like must have caught from when they were in hols / the plane.

CrazyHedgehogLover · 27/09/2023 07:33

Yes I have a horrible one! I was bed ridden all yesterday with aches all over my body! I’ve got a terrible sore throat and headache 😩 non stop sneezing! Worst one I’ve had yet tbf, hope your feeling better soon OP!

SedentaryCat · 27/09/2023 07:54

Mine started with a cough two days ago. Thank you DS. Now I've got aches and shivers, headache and sweats. Can't get a covid test locally so need to order some online.

Spent much of yesterday asleep but I'm hoping I'm through the worst of it now.

fancyfrogs · 27/09/2023 07:56

Yes, awful! DC have both had it over a week, still coughing loads but hoping they're starting to improve now. I thought I'd somehow escaped it but crept up on me a couple of days ago and feel like I've been hit by a train this morning.

spicycous · 27/09/2023 07:59

I'm just getting over Covid. It barely registered when I had it a couple of years ago but I've felt dreadful this time.

ShinyBandana · 27/09/2023 08:00

Yeah, I’m on day 7 and there’s no improvement. My kids were ok and about 4 days though. Covid tests are all negative but the last time I felt this ill was with Covid 18 months ago.

Yahyahs22 · 27/09/2023 08:01

Yep, me and the kids are coming up two weeks of it now. Relentless. Hoping it subsides before our holiday next week

Took 4 days for my positive test too, the ear ache is awful, isn't it?

Red2017 · 27/09/2023 08:07

Yep had this. Now on the good side of it thankfully. Turns out it was covid which i had caught by being in hospital. It really is doing the rounds again. Not the most pleasant at 36 weeks pregnant but its done now. DH also caught it but not once did he test positive which is strange. I suppose it could be to do with viral load.

ShutTheDoorBabe · 27/09/2023 08:09

I felt like I had severe hayfever on Monday that then progressed to a stonking cold. I spent most of yesterday in bed but unable to sleep because of the one sided blocked nose. My sinuses are full and causing an awful headache. Last night, I started shivering - that really violent shivering that only comes with a fever - but have woken up drenched in sweat and I've had to stand outside to cool down. I feel better than yesterday - I no longer feel like I might die - but still feel crap.

RinklyRomaine · 27/09/2023 08:09

Started with runny nose and cough on Monday. Positive covid test last night. Fever, chills, sore skin, earaches, joint paint and cough. This is my third bout of covid and by far the worst. I can barely get out of bed. Kids seem to have much milder versions, DH nothing yet. I thought it was a cold too.

dothehokeycokey · 27/09/2023 08:28

Same here.

Currently on sofa on day three with the same bad head and nose and back pain

My chest is tight and the cough is dreadful.

Started with bad joint ache last night.

My mum was like it for five days before testing positive for covid and I've been with her so am waiting for the positive.

Jackydaytona · 27/09/2023 08:30

Yep
2 negative covid tests
Then a positive
(And for those wondering why test...some of us have clinically vulnerable family members...)

NunsKnickers · 27/09/2023 08:31

Me too. Terrible sore throat, cough, blocked nose and sinuses, headache and generally feel awful. I'm also sleeping really badly as each time I doze off I start coughing. Currently on day 4.
