Baby boy died in 'filthy' home with 'traces of cocaine in his system'

What the hell is wrong with these people. How the fuck can they subject an innocent baby to such a horrific life?! These children should be removed at birth because they don’t stand a chance. It is so utterly depressing.

Little Grant John Storey-Delaney died while in his baby bouncer at his Rochdale home. He was found 'turning grey' by his mother Sophie Riley with a blanket over his face

Well done for having the nous and determination to free yourself from a far from ideal childhood.

Children who had loving, safe and stable childhoods are at a massive advantage.

It sets them up for life- Gives such a secure foundation, compared to a child who has suffered loss and abuse at an early age.

It’s a lottery as to what family one is born into.

Good point regarding this infant. Had he been a teen, involved in petty theft, County lines, there would be zero sympathy for him by the world generally.

If baby P had have lived, he'd be being called sub human on this thread, because there's no way he wouldn't have been exceptionally damaged.

ie the parents of the mother, and the parents of the father, and the parents of the child?

In this? Baby Grant's parents given that their parents didn't cause their deaths?

But they did bring up, in two separate families of their own, their own children, who in turn became the parents of Baby Grant. There is a high probability that Baby Grant's grandparents were as disadvantaged as their offspring.

SequentialAnalyst · 23/09/2023 16:48

For clarity, it's not me blaming the parents. @bluewanda is the one doing that, and I disagree with her.

MyHornCanPierceTheSky · 23/09/2023 16:49

You're bizarrely determined to pass the blame for his death to everyone else. Why? OK his parents may have been disadvantaged, but they are alive.

MyHornCanPierceTheSky · 23/09/2023 16:53

I absolutely agree with @bluewanda. Do you blame all criminal acts on the parents?

SequentialAnalyst · 23/09/2023 16:53

I do not blame people. I try very hard not to judge people. I understand their experience due to my own life experience.

Huge respect to @TheGhostofLoganRoy for escaping the cycle Smile

MyHornCanPierceTheSky · 23/09/2023 16:56

So @SequentialAnalyst no ones ever to blame for their actions?
Am pretty sure there's people who you blame for things. You think current government are ok doing what they do as that's what their circles have always done?

This is another victim of conservative politics. This country has been going downhill since 2010. They took away surestart , support for disabled kids , education , the nhs , decent housing, jobs and hope . This is what you get voting for these incompetent scroungers death and despair .

Pumpkinpie1 · 23/09/2023 16:58

And no blooming ticket offices

Baby P and Victoria Climbie lived under Labour governments and were victims of Blair and Brown's governments.

bombastix · 23/09/2023 17:30

This stuff is beyond Labour and Conservatives; it's a multiple generation problem if drugs, violence and sexual abuse. Baby P is worth noting because the family background is frightening; you need to see that these things don't just appear. It's woven into the hopelessness of its existence in these houses, which don't get normal people visiting at all, but instead alcoholics, drug addicts, dealers, sexual offenders and paedophiles. These are places with very little attention and so what you get is basically criminal neglect of children. It's not like a single abusive incident, or a man becoming violent, it's all the time.

Zebedee55 · 23/09/2023 17:33

Some parents should never be parents. They just don't operate on the same levels as most.

It's gone on forever though, and I'm not sure anything much changes this. 🙁

Lolasgame · 23/09/2023 18:36

@Goodornot

Maggie Thatcher did irreversible damage from the 70s onwards. A lot of the damage she did cannot be turned around by any labour government.

Miri13 · 23/09/2023 18:57

Totally agree with this comment.

SequentialAnalyst · 23/09/2023 21:41

@MyHornCanPierceTheSky is this the 5 minute argument, or the 10 minute argument? Either way, your time's up.
