AIBU to think that the Tories are utterly wicked to drop net zero?

I think this is genuinely wicked but I guess it was inevitable with the easiness of drumming up a culture war over environmental issues to win votes. Environment is the new Brexit.

Fighting climate change is going to cost all of us thousands of pounds. So we won’t do it - to get votes.

Our children will live on an island suffering extremes of heat and fighting off refugees from uninhabitable parts of the world.

But it will save us some cash I guess.

AIBU to think this is wicked?

There are so many more posters I find interesting. And I have no doubt you feel the same

Talk to them.

Supporting evidence for that please? Or you're just trolling, huh?

What exactly does it mean for sexually assaulted women if you remove 1% of sexual assualts from the total?

What you actually mean is that we should virtue signal. After all, who cares about results = women being raped.

Yeah, it means nothing, right? These little statistics ... why bother doing anything when more women get raped in the DRC, yeah? Let's just stop trying.

The UK is more responsible for global warming than any other country – if global carbon dioxide emissions are allocated using per capita calculations (according to a 2014 study)

Analysis of the total carbon dioxide emissions of countries since 1850 has revealed the nations with the greatest historical responsibility for the climate emergency.

The six include China, Russia and Brazil, which come only behind the US as the biggest cumulative polluters. The UK is eighth and Canada is 10th. Carbon dioxide remains in the atmosphere for centuries and the cumulative amount of CO2 emitted is closely linked to the 1.2C of heating the world has already seen.

And of course, nations such as Zambia, Barbados, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, India, etc, have done the least to heat the planet but bear the brunt of climate impacts caused by countries like the UK boiling the planet.
