In a supermarket and heard a middle aged woman say 'OH! You've got back off your holibobs then!?'

What is wrong with saying 'holiday'? I actually cringed when I heard it.

All the boomer / millennial chat

Being woke or on fleek

Also when people use chrimbo instead of Christmas 🤣

I hate the word cottage. Really not sure why. Putting it in front of cheese or pie makes it worse!

Mamatolittleboy · 16/09/2023 19:41

Moist!!

When people say 'spot on'. E.g. 'Centerparcs holidays are spot-on for my family'.

No idea why. Sort of smug maybe?

Ghastisflabbered · 16/09/2023 19:44

“Need gone” gives me the rage. Generally in an advert so you get the double whammy of “chester draws, need gone”

Holibobs, Sainsbos and Sarnies also elicit similiar levels of rage.

I know it’s unreasonable.

Any adult using a kid word - yummy, scrummy, etc.

I also hate the word bliss for some reason.

Passingplace · 16/09/2023 19:47

Oh and someone was on here the other day calling Marks and Spencer “Markies”.

Passingplace · 16/09/2023 19:48

Making fucking memories.

Veggies.

StrongandNorthern · 16/09/2023 19:50

Hollibobs, hun, 'making memories', train station.

My mum says things are scrummy and it drives me mad.

WhatASmashingBlouseYouHaveOn · 16/09/2023 19:51

Bric-a-brac.

Reminds me of a load of old tat, and the sound of the word itself is somehow annoying.

Alltheparmesanplease · 16/09/2023 19:53

'miffed' 😩

The new Mumsnet buzzword seems to be ‘challenge’. I always picture the poster doing this 🤺 when all they mean is that they gave someone a mild telling-off. I hate it 😁

StormInaDcup99 · 16/09/2023 19:53

'Rip her/him a new one'

Disgusting vile term

Perhaps they could say ‘challenge’ instead Grin

Living his/her best life.
Making memories.
Living the dream.
Smashing whatever (usually 'it'). A red mist descends when I see or hear it.

Seconded!

Nowadays and in this day and age. I can not stand it when people say those.

Do better.

Specifically MN related, “for context”. You could just add the information without those words and it would still make perfect sense. Also “think …”.
