i know people will say its none of my business but i will be watching him when she goes back to work and i really cant imagine myself shouting this name out around tesco's.

is there ever a right time to tell someone the name they have chosen is terrible or is it always best to not say a thing.

i can see his whole life being spoilt by this name (yes it is that bad)

Henry!

Well in that case I should tell your sister that you are taking over the naming of her child due to her obvious irresponsibility

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/03/2008 09:33

Henry is an excellent name ! thought it was going to be something really awful..

fishie · 04/03/2008 09:34

i think this is a wind up

fortyplus · 04/03/2008 09:36

I hate my Henry although he sucks quite well,he is a lug to pull around and always getting tangled up in the lead.

fortyplus · 04/03/2008 09:38

But don't worry it's from this thread

soph28 · 04/03/2008 09:39

Have I got this right? She thinks Henry is a terrible name?

Absolutely nothing wrong with Henry at all.

Can think of loads of weird/terrible names but not Henry.

Hi Kerry

Just trying to motivate myself to get out the front door - but the thermometer says zero and I keep seeing little flurries of snow going past. Brrrr!

Have written epic for you on fb to make up for not being around much lately.

Bloody pooter is still playing up - took me 5 attempts to get on the internet this morning. Humph!

Well surely this thread is a wind-up!

I'm never going to put down what names I'm thinking of because I've seen a lot of mn'ers saying that such and such is a good name when really it wasn't at all, it put me off you lot in relation to names, I thought you were all sane until I saw that thread!

mumblesmummy · 04/03/2008 12:51

My mum quite often calls me gurtrude or Veronica. Which are NOT my name. She just says it for the crack when we're out and about. So people will probably think you're calling him Henry for the crack. There are a LOT of Henrys about at the moment tho. My boss's son is called it, and I never know if he's on about his kid or the works hoover. He thinks its funny. Yeah dead funny.

BeauLocks · 04/03/2008 12:53

What are your children called? That way we can be judgy judgy....

LazyLinePainterJane · 04/03/2008 13:07

Well I think Henry Penry is a lovely name .....not a patch on Haardvark though

denbury · 04/03/2008 13:14

henry is abit old and reminds me of henry from thomas the tank engine!!!

LadyOfWaffle · 04/03/2008 13:19

MN has gone bonkers - what's wrong with Henry? roffle @ Ho though!

sparklesandnowinefor9months · 04/03/2008 13:37

are you bored julia?

DS3 is Henry

i'm glad your not my sister!

PotPourri · 04/03/2008 13:43

Hywell, Humphrey..?

Be careful with teh nickname, she might not like it and ask you not to call him that - that happened to my sister! The irony.

But, you already know. It really is none of your business. That is his name, and it was their choice. She has not asked for an opinion and even if she did, it would only offend her now that the baby is here. I think your only option is to live with it chick!

PotPourri · 04/03/2008 13:46

OMG - what size is this thread!?! It only had 26 posts on it before I input my comments!

haud yer wheestunless of course you want a barney

LittlePumpkinPants · 04/03/2008 13:53

are you worried he will be a hoorah?

juliaroberts · 04/03/2008 14:11

no have not been frightened of

i just dont like the name because it is terrible, fair enough if he was born 50 years ago but there is a reason this name died out.

lets face it he will never be one of the popular boys at school with a name like that, he will spend his school days giving out his dinner money.

it turns out that he will be henri which is even (if possible) worse.
