Reels of parents dancing for joy when kids go to school

On Instagram & Fb.

I get it, I’m craving some space and time on my own now after a long summer. But I just find the really exaggerated reels on social media of the parents being so damn joyful to be getting rid of their kids and back to school a bit..uncomfortable/distasteful
Am I just a boring stick in the mud

This is MN where a sense of humour bypass seems to be a requirement!

It's nuts. Not everyone finds it funny, OK, but the reaches posters are making about it! The absolute literalism!

There are many popular, long-running sitcoms based on the premise of loving our partners and kids but still having them drive us bonkers sometimes even though we chose to marry/have them. Most people can find some humour in it somewhere. It's not a new idea, it's not an unusual situation and until this thread, I didn't know anyone thought it was such an offensive concept.

@DrSbaitso Lots of unsavoury comments can be passed off as a joke. It's a classic deflection from passive aggression.

Way too much overthinking!!

I assume it is sarcasm rather than someone being aggressive in any form.
