ASOS foot models

#lighthearted#

I was buying shoes from ASOS earlier.

I was surprised to see what looked like bunions, piggy toes, scrappy raggedy toe nails, unpainted toes...I could go on. I wouldn't expect to see this from a company trying to sell shoes.

AIBU to expect some effort to glamourise the feet?

Then you must find life perpetually disappointing.

Why on earth would you conclude this?

Being observant means I find life perpetually disappointing? Wtaf?! 🤣

You mean ASOS don't faint when women DARE not to paint their toenails?! I might take a look.

Theroom · 01/09/2023 20:25

I would expect attractive feet in a shoe advert, yes.

I wouldn't have noticed anything wrong with this model's feet though without zooming in. I am more perturbed by the fact that the shoes don't seem to fit her.

BackAgainstWall · 01/09/2023 20:53

They’re fine.

I think you are being unreasonably critical.

wherethedevildontgo · 01/09/2023 20:58

ASOS stopped using photoshop on their models a while back with the aim of body positivity. So you'll see stretch marks etc. on the models too if you look closely. I guess the same applies to feet?!

Ohjustforgetit · 01/09/2023 21:11

Well, that's what happens to womens feet when they wear crap shoes like this. It's just a realistic representation.

I only wore shoes like this for a brief period between my teens to early twenties, and my feet are way worse than the models in your examples. It's a common joke in my family about how hideous my feet are as a result of 'conforming' to beauty standards imposed by society.

My feet used to look like hers. Poor woman has way worse to come as she gets older!

Hayliebells · 01/09/2023 21:45

Why the need to be so critical about a model's feet? It's just online mean girl behaviour. Yes the model is very unlikely to read this post, but there's really no need for it. People, even models, shouldn't need to be perfect in order to avoid criticism.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 01/09/2023 22:32

That doesn't bother me but this did earlier

Well, since you ask... You studied the photos of models' feet at some length, and you found a number of faults. You were displeased, and even went so far as to start a thread about it.

The harder one looks, the more likely one is to see the smudge, the hairline crack, the fractionally off-piste angle, the tiny dent, the bunion.

Hence the disappointment.

PeaceGoodMercutio · 01/09/2023 22:48

I spy a foot fetish.

Quick tip - observant people don't need to study things to see the details.

And why do you see disappointment in tiny dents, bunions, smudges, hairline cracks? I don't. Ever heard of kintsugi?

You are making some massive leaps in your illogical thinking and projecting your glass half empty attitude onto me.

Oh I see what's happened here.

You're under the mistaken impression that I give a shit.
