Am I one of the few people who doesn't believe in looks fading?

See it mentioned all the time on here 'looks will fade as you get older' 'people lose their looks'.
It's incessant. Apparently everyone under 30 is walking around with this undeniable glow, looking effortlessly stunning. I don't think so.
I see so many women over 40 who look beautiful, stunning. They look older, they clearly aren't 25 anymore, but they aren't any less attractive. Why would they be?
Ok, maybe if you're fortunate enough to make it to say, 95, you will likely look a lot different. You can still be beautiful though. I care for a 98 year old lady and she still has the same beautiful smile and twinkly eyes I see when I look at younger photos of her. I'm sure her health is her main concern though.
But there are women even in their 70s who still look stunning and attractive. So what if they've had work done to achieve that? People in their 20s get work done too sometimes to achieve their looks.
I think the whole looks will fade thing is heavily biased towards women, it's sexist and ageist.
I know in terms of men's attraction to young women, it's linked to looking, and being fertile. But if men don't want me because I'm not in my 20s or 30s then those are not men I want in my life.

What exactly do people mean by looks fading? I'm guessing wrinkles, sagging, weight gain? Some things that can be dealt with to an extent. However why do wrinkles mean your looks are fading? It just means you're getting older.

Well being infertile has definitely ruined my looks: pregnancy stomach from losses (no baby), IVF hormones and steroids have wrecked my skin, given me rashes and made me gain weight. My looks have definitely faded at 40! They’d have been better if I’d never bloody ttc! Hormones do change things for sure.

You are so right. I have many beautiful friends in their 50s and 60s. Did they look more attractive in their 20s and 30s ? No. Just less lined. If attractiveness is linked to the male gaze my friends still turn heads. It's just that the heads that turn are also more lined.
I'm in my 50s and my 60 year old fiance tells me I'm beautiful. I doubt a 30 year old would look in my direction.
I'm trying not to tie attractiveness in with male approval but unfortunately the two are linked.

Weight gain can be dealt with
Wrinkles can make your face look twinkly and full of character
Sagging suits no one, turkey neck and a loose jawline and can only be corrected with surgery, it really is the worst part of ageing.

It's normally used in the context of a woman being judged unfavourably against other women on her looks and not her other qualities such as intelligence, ability at her job etc. It would then be appropriate to point out that looks fade, unlike other more important qualities. Women are often unfairly judged on their appearance, when their abilities should be more important.
