M: says something pretty nasty about OP
A: agrees with M, and ooooh errr Londoners
M: actually, I am from London
A: me too!
me: thinks, please make it stop

😂

Maireas · 28/08/2023 17:55

Anyway. Did you ever find out if cats like crabsticks, OP?

Canthave2manycats · 28/08/2023 17:55

@Catsos I am so glad you managed to get your beautiful cat freed!! Don't mind the nasties - they have clearly never loved or been loved by a cat, and that's their loss.

I'd have been frantic too if it had been one of mine. Difference is that there's a lot of cat lovers around me, and we all look out for one another's cats!

I've two tortie and white girls - your boy would look so lovely with them... 😁He is just gorgeous!

moneyplantnation · 28/08/2023 17:57

@Catsos I'm afraid after reading all what you have done, some on MN might find it quite and funny.

But to be completely honest even as a cat owner, If it was my home you have done this too. The first thing I would be doing tomorrow is taking photos and going straight to the police and my solicitor.

You sound horrendous, trespass, damage and putting stuff in the house and not controlling your pet, I would be livid.

All the people thinking its funny i doubt honestly they would if was their new home.

As for the crab sticks and ham, I have no words!

ArcticLadybird · 28/08/2023 17:57

Omg, the browser tabs 🤣
“Do cats like crabsticks” 🤣🤣🤣

foolishone · 28/08/2023 17:58

@StarbucksSmarterSister there's nothing in that post you quoted that indicates they hate cats!

There's lots of accusations of trolling on this thread when it's mainly challenging the OP. That's not what trolling is.

How the actual fuck is she meant to "control" a cat??? Unless it's an indoor cat, and this beauty clearly isn't?

I wouldn't be livid at all. I'd understand.

FlamingoFloss · 28/08/2023 18:01

I am so so happy for you and your boy. What a stress for both of you. So glad the builders helped you out. I have cats and this is my worst nightmare.
you both need to relax now and enjoy the rest of the weekend x

StarbucksSmarterSister · 28/08/2023 18:02

adriftabroad · 28/08/2023 17:19

I do.
Nobody is bullying.

If they are from London, they will have a very different attitude to intruders than some here.

Don't be daft.

I was burgled 3 times (in 3 properties) when I lived in London. Once was overnight while I sleeping, which was horrendous. There is NO comparison to a bloody cat getting into the house!

StarbucksSmarterSister · 28/08/2023 18:03

Not only did you put it in a dangerous situation but you’ve ruined your neighbours new house.

Oh don't be melodramatic. The house isn't ruined. It's summer still - chuck out the crabsticks and ham, open the windows and the smell will be gone in a day or two at most. The builders are still there so I bet it's not some pristine showhome ready to move into to.

The rug may well be an issue but if it can't be cleaned OP knows she will have to replace it.

Canthave2manycats · 28/08/2023 18:03

This actually happened a cat of mine probably about 40 years or so ago. He went missing, which wasn't like him, and he'd been gone for days. In the end my dad went to a house not far from us that was unoccupied as our neighbour had died, and there was kitty looking at him from an upstairs window!! No idea how he got in.

Pompom2367 · 28/08/2023 18:04

So glad you got your cat op

What a nasty, horrible comment @Mumsanetta

Which part was nasty and why?

Canthave2manycats · 28/08/2023 18:05

Comparing a cat to a burglar - pmsl!! Unless it's a cat burglar of course...

It's cat pee ffs!! You get a good cleaner in any supermarket, which has a brush attachment, and it's cleaned cat shit off my carpet very effectively.

Canthave2manycats · 28/08/2023 18:05

Mumsanetta · 28/08/2023 18:05

Which part was nasty and why?

All of it.

momonpurpose · 28/08/2023 18:06

Puffalicious · 28/08/2023 17:32

Can you elaborate?

We had a wandering cat he would get into other people's houses...someone we never knew who poisoned him with antifreeze. You think your neighbors old not be capable or you hope they won't but you just don't know what people are capable of sadly

Misty84 · 28/08/2023 18:06

Mumsanetta · 28/08/2023 18:05

Which part was nasty and why?

All of it! What’s the matter with you?!

Mumsanetta · 28/08/2023 18:08

Canthave2manycats · 28/08/2023 18:05

All of it.

My tone was harsh but the post wasn’t nasty. Happy to stand in the corner with OP’s elderly neighbours on this one.

shitt · 28/08/2023 18:11

OP, people IRL are laughing at you here and not with you. You seem to have a lax attitude to common sense. What are you going to do to prevent this from happening again? The answer isn’t to browse right move, it’s to keep your cat indoors? The fact that this has happened before is shocking. It’s not “cute”.

Your cat could die from your stupidity, and now your neighbours have to spend money travelling and fixing their property which you’re already claiming you can’t afford to reimburse. If you can’t afford it, why didn’t you learn your lesson the last time this happened? Problems like this is why pet ownership should be vetted.

Just came on to check for an update and delighted to see he is free!!! I totally get it OP, I had a similar situation once and I was so desperate I would have done anything! So happy he’s ok xx

StarbucksSmarterSister · 28/08/2023 18:15

The new owners also have cats. I'm sure they'll be understanding and much less melodramatic that some posters on here.
