To think my friend is treating me like her maid

For context, this is a friend who I have known for years, haven't seen since before COVID. We booked and are on a 7 day all in beach holiday in the Med.

Meals are buffet service, tea service and cakes etc at certain times from a pool bar and a bar where you can go and get alcoholic drinks etc. At meal times waiters will bring you water for the table and you go to bar for anything else. Bar a few mins walk.

At every single meal we have had since arriving, she tries to send me to the bar to get her a drink, if I am going anyway absolutely fine, otherwise get your own!

She also keeps taking food from my plate to try it, with fingers , and then says can you go and get me some of that.

When I get desert, she gives me a list and asks me to bring back plates of various things.

Tea, she doesn't want to go to bar to get cakes, in case she misses some sun so again even though I don't want anything asks me to go.

I know its petty, and I'm usually easy going but after 3 days I have just said you go, you have legs too, and please stop taking food from my plate.

She is now very offended and huffing and puffing!

But OP poor friend is going to starve as she cannot possibly be expected to use her own arms and legs to feed herself from the buffet.

One can only hope that some other tables leave scraps for her to forage from.

I’m pleased that you are moving hotel to enjoy the rest of your holiday in peace. I would leave a note or send a message and actually spell it out in regards to her entitlement and laziness.

She is obviously completely unaware of herself and poor behaviour, I'd have chocked on my pizza calling you selfish.

She is not a project for the OP to fix.

The OP has told her more than once and yet she has continued with her entitled rudeness.

I think the OP is 100% to bail and leave her to her deeply annoying behaviour.

Fab for booking another hotel. If she had just once got you a towel or helped out you cold maybe have reasoned with her, but I just don’t understand how people can be that self absorbed. It’s not even as if she’s trying to get you to pay when it AI!

I think this is the best way to handle it too. Like “hey, it’s your turn to go get me something, I’d like bourbon straight up, you’ve been running me ragged” 😂 that way she wouldn’t get offended (although who knows). I can’t believe she is so unaware of what she’s doing, ordering you around like that 😄

Yes @RampantIvy but OP hasn't really spoke to her. She's said passive aggressive things (which I would do) and declined to go get things.

She hasn't said 'no friend I'm not getting you those things and can you please stop treating my like your servant. Why do you expect me to wait in you"

Theeee absolute AUDACITY of her calling YOU selfish. Never mind leaving a cucumber in her bed, leave some out of date, smelly, soggy prawns in her suitcase.
